Well, if someone is significant and/or decently well-known before 50, then there's nothing horrible about them posting a picture. It becomes a problem when the thread is flooded by people who put their first post here (e.g. Demonic_Pyro_Angel).

On the other hand, people who are significant and/or decently well known will probably have the patience to get to 50 posts before going to PYP, and their posting makes others who aren't think it's okay, so I can see why it might be a concrete rule as well.
