So you guys know... Nestle owns an arcade. I would take what he says as fact.

Apart from that... not paying for you games IS stealing. and it CAN lead not only to them removing certain games, but to them shutting down completely. In the 4 malls within 30 minutes from me, there is not a single arcade. Why? Cause they can't make any money. I don't know why that is, but I'm sure people not paying for games is a factor. Closest DDR machine to me is about 30 minutes away. And that is the only one. No ITG, no PUI, no Drummania, no anything else. NADA. Just 1 DDR Machine 30 minutes away.

You little punks should be glad you even have a local arcade to go to at all, cause I lost mine about 6 or 7 years ago. Used to go there all the time. It was a small place... wouldn't ever have had a DDR machine... but that isn't the point. The point is it was in a great location in a busy mall, yet still went out of business.

Moral of the story: Stop thinking about what is best for yourself at that moment. It hurts the business, which in turn WILL hurt you.

Arcades are dead for a reason - they can't make enough money to support themselves in most cases. Listen to Tasselfoot. If your arcade can't make money, it will shut down and you'll have nothing. Our regional Namco arcades almost shut down this year. If Namco has troubles supporting an arcade, you know the industry is little shaky.

Playing DDR for free isn't a big deal to the normal person, but it hits a business hard - way harder than you think. That money doesn't just go straight into the owner's pocket - there's rent, electric, replacement pad sensors aren't free and, of course, the people working there need to make a living.

Just remember - you don't know a good thing until it's gone. In our arcades, if a machine isn't making money, it's gone. Other arcades are no different if they're smart.

Wow, I guess arcades really are a tough business. Well, I finally got the chance to go back to my local arcade today and now they moved the DDR machine to where the counter is. So now the attendants can keep an eye on it every second.

I guess they found out what's been going on and I haven't seen much people playing it either. So, I guess no more free games for anyone and it looks like my problem is solved! Well, it's a good thing they did that.

I went to put coins into an ITG machine and before I had the chance to even put money in; some guy hit the coin return three times and put it on free play. (just for the round). I walked off machine and just left. The DDR pads never work, and when they do just one side works. ITG has never worked well enough to even play on. The pads have been in iffy shape for months. I don't think there is money to fix them because of the free play problem. I don't think I've been to an arcade in the past few months because I am assuming things don't work.

Okay at my local arcade I play DDR right, when these teens come in and invade the DDR machine all the way till midnight. I stay to watch and see them play it without paying a single quarter! How they do this you ask? They go behind the DDR machine and do something, and that bass sound when you enter a quater plays like 25 times in a row in a split second. Then they come back out and play DDR with all those free games and did not insert a single coin. Is this right? I've played one game with them and I felt bad knowing that I was playing a game that was not payed for. The arcade attendants don't know about this as well. Should I report them?
if i were those teens and u reported them,id find u and probably rail ur face with my fist
k thx.
ps : dont be a dck

well its kinda sad when the arcade can make more money selling a ddr machine than they did in three years runing it because people find ways to get free games and hog the machine all day

The reason for this is probably because they pay for the money at the door, at the bowling alley im going to tomorrow *EXCITED* you can pay $25 and get free tokens until midnight.

One of my ambitions in life is to own an Arcade. Seriously. So I think I'll be talking to Nestlekwik about that some day.

Anyway. I was at an Arcade once and a similar thing was happening. These kids where messing around with an arcade. I think it was Time Crisis. It was that or House of the Dead 2, I loved those games. Anyway, the first couple of times I just laughed. Then a crowd grew and new people learnt how to do whatever they where doing. Eventually a guy came and told them to go away like. I then went to the machine and asked the guy what's going to happen. He then said, "If there's some way these kids are getting free goes, I'm not making money and the machine is useless. I'm going to have to get rid of it." Ever since that day, that arcade slowly started losing the Arcades and started replacing them with those grabbing metal claw machine and lame things like that. I really miss that arcade. Now, I have to drive 45 minutes away to play in a nice arcade.

That's a real life fable there. Moral? Don't steal free goes. The thought of free goes is awesome, I'll admit that. However, free goes result in no profit for the Arcade owner. Further resulting in losing that machine.

What a day that was

Also I put it on joint premium and no menu timer, and the owners of the arcade dont know **** about itg so it never got turned back.
Remeber, these guys are just job finders, these guys might not know **** about anything. You're lucky you have somebody who knows how to fix an ITG coin operator. The guys back here? Well, they just stand there.....and we don't get to play for the rest of the day. Hell knows how they got it fixed overnight.

I'd report them, just don't tell them who it is, and make sure that they don't describe you. Then it will be so much better because then you won't break the rules, and they can't beat you up :P

I have done that before... But i thought it only worked with old games...

You go behind the machine and flip the RESET switch...
it gives you a free credit every time you flip the switch...

Its cool, but cruel.

Good thing where I live, people at the local arcade always pay for games, I once played a free game of ITG2 because someone put credits in and had to leave.

Goddammit. I can't stand people like this. You or your parents have jobs. They pay for your necessities with their money. Arcade owners do the same. If you are trying to steal from them how are they supposed to pay for their families?

People like you piss me off. In my arcade no one does this, and no one watches the machine because they trust people. You are stealing.

It's like people doing work without getting paid. You should be ashamed.
