I like how there are people in the Wii thread talking about actually playing the Wii, while it looks like no one on here got a PS3.

Kinda like how you ACTUALLY used the edit button.

PS I have a friend that bought the PS3 and I hear he's fairly pleased with it, but he still doesn't think it was worth the $600.

Hahaha, yes. I started laughing when I came into this thread. So, did any of you actually get a PS3?

Confirmed suckage on launch numbers.

Quote:
Nov. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Sony Corp. may have missed its goal of having 400,000 PlayStation 3 consoles in U.S. stores for the video-game player's Nov. 17 debut, analysts said.

More than half the 150 stores checked by Kaufman Bros. said they wouldn't have enough units to cover preorders, according to a Nov. 16 research note by retail analyst SooAnn Roberts. She predicts Sony will ship no more than 200,000 units to the U.S. this year.

Savner said in a Nov. 7 report that Sony would miss its target. Gikas said in a Nov. 16 note that he expected 200,000 PlayStation 3s available at the U.S. launch and 400,000 by year- end.
You know how many Sony said they'd have by year's end?

1.2 million.

People will just be selling PS3s to each other until the system ships more.

PS. I am seriously considering getting a job at Gamestop to catch the next shipment.

So no one person will posses a system until there are more in the country, and this money will just float around until its back in the right hands.

Yup.

Until of course one person has them all. When good games actually come out, he'll have a monopoly over them. Sony can't do anything about it because they can't make that many that fast.

No, morons. You didn't SELL people what they wanted. You GAVE people a chance to make money RESELLING it to other people who do somewhat.

Think about it Squeek, if there is a market for $1500 PS3s then SOMEONE wants them very, very badly.

I honestly can't imagine why, but if people enjoy spending thousands of dollars for an oversized paperweight, then more power to them.

Wahoo. It's hereee.

I personally think that the only reason why it looks big is because it's a little more curved than the ps2, and it comes out in the front more... if you look at it hard enough you can tell it doesn't seem that large. Looks really nice though.

Because it's not as useless as you say it is. Get over yourself, all of the systems are pretty good.

The PS3 is a great console, I'm sure.

Just no where near worth the amount of money people charge for it.

Except there's no real reason to get one because all of their third party exclusives are moving to Microsoft's and Nintendo's development.

Squeek seriously get your Nintendo fanboy head out of your ass. If Nintendo is as awesome as you say they are, explain what happened to them over the last decade.

Just because you have an extreme distaste for Sony doesn't mean you should post in this thread everytime you seem to want to bash them. Sony screwed up the launch numbers and the price of the PS3.

Okay, we've known that for months now. Get over it and stop crying because you feel Sony doesn't cater to every minute detail for Squeek of FFR.

Over the last decade? You mean, Nintendo 64, SNES and the GameCube? Yeah, all of those were disasters, lemme tell you.
