That example only makes sense for sims that are insanely short (100 arrow file? lol) where one mistake = doom. Most have around 1000, and 990-0-0-0-0-10 isn't really a very realistic score for anyone to be getting on anything.

Whatever, maybe I'm just used to FFR where missing at all screws you over completely.

Yeah, since there's a gigantic difference between the accuracy-based SM system and the combo-based FFR system.

The new DP chart looks nice.

No no, I get your point 100 arrows was just to make my example easier to calculate and stuff :P
But lets do another example. Take "I am maid" oni. This song has 1008 steps.
We have two players in the example. One who has a really good MA, but he gets a lot of CB's. It could because he isn't good at mashing, or it could be because it just isn't possible on his keyboard, or some other reason (making it easier for people with lousy keyboards isn't my point here though, but it makes a huge difference on some songs). And one guy who has a fairly decent MA, but manages to just combo through some heaps of arrows.

This is what they ended up with:
Player 1 (MA - guy):
marv: 968
perf: 22
great:8
good: 4
boo: 2
miss 6
Total DP = (968 * 5) + (22 * 4) + (8 * 2) + (4 * -2) + (2 * -10) + (6 * -15) = 4840 + 88 + 16 - 8 - 20 - 90 = | 4826 |

Player two (non CB - guy):
marv: 922
perf: 58
great: 22
good: 3
boo: 2
miss 2
Total DP = (922 * 5) + (58 * 4) + (22 * 2) + (3 * -2) + (2 * -10) + (2 * -15)= 4610 + 232 + 44 - 6 - 20 - 30 = | 4830 |

This means that a score with 5 CB's more, but almost 3 times as many greats and almost 3 times as many perfects would win. The guy with the great MA had like ((58 - 22) + (22 - 8) = 50) 50 arrows where he did a better job than the non CB' guy, but in the opposite direction there were 5 arrows. Even though we are talking about CB's, which are considered "really bad" I guess, the other guy has pretty much proven that he masters the song better.

But yeah. Dunno really, just an example =)

Considering I had no prior knowledge of the ITG DP scale, I'm kinda shocked at how close I was to it XD

I've always thought boos should be a little worse compared to misses than they typically are, personally...and I still think freeze shouldn't add to the DP total.

One thing worries me about the song list. Some of those songs are loaded with triples my computer can't hit. How am I supposed to get around that? I suppose if I run into one of those I lose lol, even though I'll probably lose the first round anyway XD.

Yeah, I'll post links to the simfiles we play each round. There is no "my turn to play" though. You have to check the tournament thread every day to see what the next song is that you have to play.

That DP table looks fine. I'll use that.

Oh, sorry. I meant to say "every round", but I was trying to reword. Sorry if that confused you in any way.
