With an audible gulp, danceflashrevo activated his comm:
"So, what's the plan again?"

"We fly for the central hub of the bacta treatment facility," came cry4eternity's reply, "and from there we g- TIES! DEAD AHEAD!

TIE Fighters spewed out from all angles and the sky soon became littered with laser blasts.

"Everyone take your wing and fly! Get as many TIes as you can, and regroup at the rendezvous point!"

An explosion followed. Another soon after.

"WHOO-HOO! Time to light them eyeballs up!" YoshL's signal lit up with the cheers that emanated from the comms.


The battle was fierce, albeit short.


9 of the 12 X-Wings had landed at the rendezvous point.

"Who's missing?!" yelled soramimi.

Before an answer could arrive, the squadron looked up at the sky to see a pair of X-Wings desparately trying to clear TIEs from behind the 3rd remaining.

"Get them off! Get them off!!"

More blasts. The deadly spikes of red coming ever so close, but just missing their targets...

"Get them off! GET THEM OFF!"
iironiic's voice grew more and more frantic with each passing second...

"GET THEM OFF ME! GET THEM O-"

Flash Squadron had to shield their eyes from the glow.
When they removed their hands from their eyes, all that remained of their comrade were flecks of X-Wing raining down on the ground and the aftermath of the explosion.

A silence fell among them as they mourned their fallen friend...

Or was he?

Funnygurl slowly landed, having taken the spare X-Wing from the Republic cruiser now lying along in Thyferran orbit.
As she stepped out of the craft, a solemn silence hung in the air.


"Well, we're not going to get anywhere if we stay up mourning the whole time," said Cold Kitten, "we might as well try to get some sleep before the mission tomorrow."

One-by-one, Flash Squadron disappeared into the camoflagued hideout on the outskirts of the capital.

...

A few hours had passed when there was a knock on j-rodd123's door.

"Wha? What is it?"

"Come on, everyone's gathering in Jtehanonymous' room," came the reply from Charles Claythrone.

"Why? We've already had our time to mourn."

"It's not that... You should come and see this..."

J-rodd followed, slightly curious.

The curiosity evaporated in an instant as he looked upon the scene...

Jtehanonymous lay facedown in his bunk... with a vibroblade sticking out of his back...

Attached to the blade was a small memopad with 3 words glowing threateningly...

WE HAVE INFILTRATED.

"Get General Cracken on the comms... NOW!" Red Blaster yelled. He didn't care at who.


Jtehanonymous has been murdered.
