From the looks of it I've gone up to D3 Still haven't been placed yet though.
9th Official FFR Tournament - Division 2: 6th
10th Official FFR Tournament - Division 3: 21st

Is division 4 bad? I used to actually be good at this game, but I'm kinda meh now. Is the placement permanent?
I literally have no idea how this tournament works really even though I read the OP like twice. Am I going to have to play on one engine? Are there multiple songs per round? You're placed into a division based on your scores on songs of certain difficulties, basically. Can you AAA 80s? If so, you're probably D6+.... if you can't AAA anything higher than 30s, you probably shouldn't be D4+... it's based on your skill.
You can play on any of the three engines.
There is one song per round, and rounds are one week long.
You don't submit scores, the system just records them when you play the songs.
D4 may be a AAA-fest the first round or two, but that's because each round the songs get progressively harder. Ask what difficulty D4 is going to start with, and see how you can do on other songs of that difficulty.

just a suggestion, the placement for D5 seems awfully generous. you should bump lots of people down to d4 to balance the borderline

It's not bad, it's just that the community achieves better scores than it did when you were active.
AAAing something on the same difficulty level as Balloon Fever won't automatically put you in D5. A file along the lines of Exciting Hyper Highspeed Star probably would, though.
Assuming the lower end of D5 is perceived the same way it has been the past few officials.

Keep in mind there's a D7 now. Last tournament D7 wasn't planned and only a few people were sent into it. Now that D7 was planned there's a lot more people in it and things have shifted. Plus on top of it this is a raw scoring tournament which changes things as well.

oh i was just saying that the skill in D5 currently is extremely broad currently, and it's not like lots of D5ers were shifted to D6 tom compensate. It just seems like quite a few people seem better fitted to a D4 with a slightly higher top range compared to a D5 where they are currently faaaaaar from the top. if this shouldn't be talked about in the thread i'll stop now, just my 2 cents
