We didn't even have AP or IB. IIRC they were introduced here the year after I finished

We had 'provincial exams'. They were scored out of 100. The averages were abysmal, IIRC. I got a 95 in Math, 99 in Chem and 92 in English. I remember a publication of the Math results stating the provincial average was 38% with a standard deviation of 20 or so (Only like 28% passed it). To be fair, the math on it is quite a bit harder than the math on the SAT.

Still, terrible public education here. It has always been behind the rest of the country, despite having some solid universities

Ahhh my high school sucked. Both of my AP tests were independent study.

Oh man.

Didn't take any APs at all till junior year, where I worked my butt off to make up for the previous two years.

5s on: Calculus BC, Physics B, French, Statistics, Microeconomics (self study), and Environmental Science.

Physics and French were by far the hardest. Physics: well, it's just difficult, and I'm not a native speaker of French. Moreover, I recall that the testing site had horrible sound acoustics and reverberation: really sucked for the people in the back of the room trying to listen to the tape.

This year: Chemistry and English Literature. I hardly even tried on both of them. My predicted scores: matching 4s. -.-

The thing about APs in Korea is that our school doesn't teach them in the curriculum so we study on our own. Unless you pay a lot of money for hagwons or tutoring, that is...

Anyway, back on topic:

Not as many as some of my friends, but I worked hard for all of them and I'm happy with what I got : ))
