Wasn't aware of this movie before, thanks for the discovery.

One movie I would recommend for a dark creepy tense atmosphere is Outer Space by Peter Tscherkassky. It's a short (10 min.) experimental movie with crazy visuals. "Tscherkassky spent an hour in the darkroom for every two seconds of film, using a laser pointer to transfer partial images (and sounds) of existing film onto his raw stock."

Download the Conet Project if you like number stations. They're far creepier than this, especially knowing how they're still floating around out there, and with the right equipment, you can tune into them.

If this was Slashdot, I'd give you +1 Insightful for that. Best post in the thread.

Also, if whoever was running the numbers stations was really smart, they'd make it so you'd have to be listening to at least 3 or 4 at a time, in multiple languages/far spread locations AND know how to decipher, to get a single message.

Then even if you were ungodly good at cryptography and tracking only a single station you'd never get a thing.

Also junk data needs to be included in the mix, and a few of them need to genuinely transmit no encoded information, just to throw people off.
