Sorry but I think the whole "cancer awareness" excuse is bullshit. You don't raise awareness of some health problem just by doing some random thing, you raise it by actually telling people about the problem, and growing a beard doesn't make that any easier. No sane person will look at an unshaven guy in the middle of November and automatically think "oh, it must be for male cancer awareness!" unless they are already completely aware of the issue you're trying to raise. If you do something that actually raises cancer awareness, awesome; if you want to go a month without shaving, also awesome. But don't lie to yourself that they are somehow the same thing.

I feel the exact same way about various cancer or whatever awareness ribbons people put on their cars or whatever. Either you already know what it stands for (and thus it serves no purpose to you since you already knew) or you don't know what it means (and thus it serves no purpose to you as it failed to inform you).

Since they're not informative to people who don't already know what they mean beforehand, they're essentially useless. I think they just serve to make people feel good because they think they're raising awareness about some cancer or some cause when actually they're not even doing that.

Random colored ribbon on someone's car -- I have no clue what this is for unless I already knew what it was for. Useless for informing people.

Actually a friend of mine raised over 500$ dollars with this, just saying. Of course I don't just wear the stache, I also tell people to go donate on my page and support my facial hair.

Canada rises like more than all other countries combined though, so likely that other countries don't give a shit

Those who never grow it always grow most of their facial hair instead of only their mustache and assume "lul guyz look, I'm doin it!" when really they just grew out everything along with their mustache.

Instead of growing ugly mustaches just donate money towards prostate cancer.
