ah ya that would be fun. ive seen him a couple times but it was on huge stages and his sets were surrounded by better artists so that only made him look worse.

Re: Going to my first real metal concert.
Awesome dude, I have been to a bunch like TDWP, Oceano, As Blood Runs Black, AGATG, Whitechapel, Blind Witness, Norma Jean, etc. and I can tell you some pointers...
1. DON'T get near the speakers up front unless you want your ears ringing for a day afterward.
2. DON'T let yourself get into the middle of a moshpit/wall of death unless you want to be pummeled by giant guys. Also watch out for crazy guys swinging their arms wildly with no regard to you or anybody else...these people are usually the cause of fights lol.
3.The front next to the stage, even though it seems tempting, is really rowdy and loud and unless you can deal with some shoving and crowd surfers I wouldn't suggest it.
4. I always stay around the middle on the edge of the moshpits, you can feel the action, get in the moshpit if you want, or have your own little 'area' and move around freely as you want. Much better than the congested front stage area X_X.
5. Generally the heavier the band the more brutal the people. I think you will be fine at a TDWP concert but if you ever find yourself at a Oceano/Whitechapel show watchout lol.Originally posted by ReincarnateHow on earth could one possibly eat those words?Originally posted by MrGigglesWell, you'd have to print them out first.Comment

Re: Going to my first real metal concert.
Well depending on where the concert is at really. I live in South Carolina so the chance of it being packed here is...slim. However, if a concert is in Las Vegas than it is guaranteed to be overfilled. So depending on the size of the venue/city your attending is the answer to that question but if you want to be 100% sure then go ahead and buy in advance =P. Whitechapel rocks btw. You will enjoy the concerts if you like the music, that simple =3Originally posted by ReincarnateHow on earth could one possibly eat those words?Originally posted by MrGigglesWell, you'd have to print them out first.Comment

This guy got it. If you want to try moshing, I suggest going into a circle pit first, then go from there, and don't be afraid to dodge any limbs coming towards you.Awesome dude, I have been to a bunch like TDWP, Oceano, As Blood Runs Black, AGATG, Whitechapel, Blind Witness, Norma Jean, etc. and I can tell you some pointers...

I actually saw TDWP this summer, even though I dislike them immensely, August Burns Red was playing too so I decided to deal. I didn't find the pits that bad at all, so I think you'll be good.
As for Silverstein, they don't play breakdowns at all ahaha, so don't even worry about them.nahComment

Re: Going to my first real metal concert.
seen 'em twice and chilled with Tommy and Paul backstage after their set
saw TDWP at the underground a few years back, they're not really my cup of tea but I didn't really mind them...haven't really ever been to metal show at a much larger venue
actually, come to think of it, I've only been to two larger venues...Rush at the Molson Amphitheatre (my first concert when I was 13) and then Joe Satriani at Massey Hall (played guitar with him backstage afterwards lmao platinum tickets passes
)
but yeah, you'll definitely have fun breh

Re: Going to my first real metal concert.
I've picked up a bunch of their songs on guitar and I think I only encountered one tab for seven strings (roboturner--and the tab was wrong as hell lmao)
Dusty and Paul are both playing 6 string PRS's now anyways iirc
and yeeeeee smitty, my first guitar teacher got me really into necrophagist and we went to one of their shows together
(too bad they can't play live for shit lmao)
I've been really getting into djent lately...you guys should go check out cloudkicker, textures, or periphery if any of you guys are into meshuggah and that sort of jazz~Last edited by One Winged Angel; 12-6-2010, 08:28 PM.

Re: Going to my first real metal concert.
I don't even like DWP, I'm going just for the fun of going to a concert.
I wanna see the following:
All Shall Perish(Even though my favorite drummer, Matt Kuykendall quit)
As I Lay Dying
BTBAM
Black Dahlia Murder
Dream Theater
Lamb of God
Liquid Tension Experiment, or any one of Mike's side projects.
Mastodon
Muse
Nevermore
Rush
The Sword
Tool
Whitechapel
Those are pretty much the ones I wanna see the mostsigpicComment
