you do know what shuffle does, right? not only does it, you know, randomize the columns so you're forced to play patterns that aren't used very often in charts, but it also removes reliance of muscle memory

This is what IIDX Random does, and players use it all the time to practice patterns (instead of just relying on learning the patterns of a chart) and also sometimes help them get high scores on a "good random"
