It's not just dinosaur poop, though. Those files have historical significance and nostalgic value. They won't mean anything to those who weren't around back then. FFR used to sound a certain way, feel a certain way, play a certain way, etc, and those files carry that feeling over.

There's zero point in restepping them because, well, they aren't objectively good songs/charts worth restepping. It would be like walking into a museum and overhauling/repainting over a bunch of old artwork. Sometimes it completely decimates the value and removes the whole point of viewing something unchanged from the era it was created it. Restepping the files erases all those interesting/funny nuances that came with the old FFR.

I would just make them harder to access for whatever reason -- not unlockable or any crap like that. Just made very clear that those files are separate from the rest and not counted in ranks. Just there for curiosity's sake.
