it's less the accomplishment and more the psychological aspect I was getting at. Playing a really hard lower level file is harder to do because you get so easily discouraged when you can't do something around the difficulty level of songs you can do and everyone else is doing fine but you don't know why you aren't, when it's really a more borderline file than it lets on. Or a really hard file is much easier and then you overshoot tons of others in that range. Consistency in difficulty is honestly more for developing players than pros, so they have an idea of what to expect and what's in that songs difficulty range, and from there which songs they can and can't do. Pro's have explored the spectrum, so it doesn't matter, but the newer players could easily get bogged up on an FMO stuck in VC territory and feel like it's either just him or the songs misplaced.
