Is the jump a bit stupid? Yes I agree. The goal is balance. The better player will always get the better score on the higher song. That's just how it is.

I get it you hate the tiebreaker rules. But don't tell me you were blind sighted by the fact there's a 12, when the OP states pretty clearly that tiebreakers are final difficulty +1 and I was even kind enough this time around to post the final difficulties.

I personally think Middie's a great Tourney host. Matched us up quite well.

I can't say I don't understand his frustration, but I also can't say it's stupid because everyone who actually read the whole OP should be clear of how it works. I don't waste my time trying to think of all the outcomes for people to get blind sighted. Everything you need to know is in the OP.

there's a transition period between separate divisions for a reason... hell why do you think YOSHl is in D3 with us? he has Oni, shouldn't he be at least D4?

I mean... fuck, picking a song like this doesn't feel like a fair end to the battle we've been having at all. you may as well say YOSHl is D2 cause the rest of his scores don't say D3 or higher, then get in a AAA tiebreaker two times in a row, and then give them an FMO jacking song as a tiebreaker in D2.

it just doesn't fucking make any sense. you'd maybe think that you'd give the person YOSHl is facing a *chance* at beating him.

in my metaphor, you are YOSHl and can jack. middie gave us a jacking song, and i'm a D2 player that can't jack. so yes... i'm mad i have no chance of redeeming myself from this tie breaker, but i don't want to continue bitching about it ~_~

First off, YOSHl clearly proved to me that unless the song is mostly jacks, he won't rape the shit out of it. He sucks at literally every other pattern. He's actually a really easy opponent. Plus there's the rule of which I can veto song picks. In his case I would take high consideration to vetoing a song that has a lot of longer jacks in it. There are rules in place to balance things like this.

On the note of someone saying I was a shitty host: This person was pretty upset at his song choice as well. Even though his stats show he should, in theory, be very even with his opponent on it.

I will not change the tiebreaker rule though. This is the only way I feel to guarantee a non tie breaking result, without a landslide victory. This rule is based off the assumption that you've been placed in the correct division. The only time this rule has a flaw is if I've misplaced you, which in that case, I have been a bad host.

In short (tl;dr): I'm not mad at Zero at all, I understand where he's coming from. It's things like this that help me to be a better host to you guys. As for how it went down, I might be a little less likely to use the DF engine for tie breakers so I can check your stats next go around so that it seems more fair song choice wise.

I don't give easy wins in my tournies, you have to work hard for them. I'm going to keep it that way.
