If the weather cooperates, you might be able to see the total eclipse of the Moon later tonight. But you'll have to stay up late. The eclipse will begin shortly after midnight and last about three and a half hours.
An eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth and Moon are lined up so that the Moon passes through the Earth's shadow. The Moon will be totally covered from 1:41-2:53 AM, giving it an eerie orange glow. Take some pictures if you stay up to watch. edit: The next lunar eclipse won't happen for the United States until 2015 or 2019. The next solar eclipse won't happen until 2023. edit2: 12:37am Central Time http://i53.tinypic.com/t9zg5j.jpg 12:52am Central Time http://i56.tinypic.com/2jdm9ew.jpg 1:06am Central Time http://i52.tinypic.com/2gt69oj.jpg 1:19am Central Time http://i56.tinypic.com/mrfhgw.jpg 1:34am Central Time http://i54.tinypic.com/2m4f8g6.jpg 1:48am Central Time http://i51.tinypic.com/taqypu.jpg
