I've occasionally thought these same things myself. But then I remember that these people CHOSE to be telemarketers. At some point in their life, these people made a conscious decision to get a job where all you do is annoy people via telephone. Now, these people could've decided to work at Wendy's or get their degrees in pharmacology...

...but no!

They had to become telemarketers. Which is why I have absolutely no moral problems with stringing one of them along for 5 minutes for my own amusement.
