A example would be the plan for an African-only school here in Ontario, Canada. The school board was aware that only 40% of the African-Canadian students passed high school. Hence, they decided to construct such a school to aide solely African-Canadians, with some education of their heritage. This, to many people, was considered highly racist to both the African-Canadians, for their spotlight isolation, and for other races, for not being recognized or considered to be educated on their own heritage. What makes this valid to be taken into consideration is the measly 40% passing rate for African-Canadians. Of course, the anti-racism supporters won, but amazingly, it was a almost tied vote for and against. |
