I went to this program at the UW for a couple of days to learn C+ and Java. The instructors were pretty young, and one of them had a website with a link to FFR on it. I started playing FFR instead of following along with the instructions and didn't really get much out of it. By the end of the course, everyone in the programming group had started playing it, and I just kept at it since then.

Yea, that happened first semester of this past year in my CAD class too. Some people saw me playing it and after a while just about everyone was playing it (behind the teacher's back, of course).

My friend John showed it to me back in '02, and I got hooked on playing it. Decided to join the forums in January.

Someone posted it on a forum that I go to, and then we had a little competition to see who could score the best on terror from beyond. From then on I was addicted XD

I first played it in my Computer Networking class when I saw some other kid playing it on his computer. Good times since then.

Actually, I was looking around my usual surfing sites for cool flash games, and when I went to www.addictinggames.com, there it was.

Synthlight made a thread about FFR on DDRfreak.com back on, I think, October 18th, 2002 (or somewhere near that time). For some reason, I thought I had already read the thread and ignored it for a few days. Finally I decided to check it out again, since it kept getting bumped back up to the top.

This was back when all FFR was was the game and a few news posts (only a webpage). I kept checking back with the site for updates and eventually it became a website and I joined the forums (7th person to do so).

So that's how I found out about FFR, from Synthlight himself.

Way back in the day... my freshman year of college... either late 2002 or early 2003... I was drinking in a friends room and a girl started playing Terror From Beyond, and we were all amazed at her ability to not only pass it, but to get a decent combo on it too.

At the time I pawned the game off as something for girls, and never checked it out (I tried Mario that night and failed). Then I met Whorli in June 03. She blabs on about DDR, so when we get back from Israel, I remembered this site and came to check it out again... got hooked. Shortly thereafter the design of the game changed to its current format. I'll miss the good ole days...

But at the same time... I did check the forums 2 days after I registered, but I didn't post for a few months, and then it was a good 8-9 months before I REALLY started posting... crazy coincedence that it happened at the same time as the 1st FFR League? I think not. I was an absolute n00b when that started... but then went from 100 million points to 1 billion points in less than 2 months. And got alot better... plus I bugged LD non-stop for over a month about suggestions for improvement to the league, which got me appointed to staff for the 2nd season.

Oh yea... we WILL be having a 3rd season of the league. Fear not.

*sigh* Good ole days. I miss thee. Back when I only read Brag Board... to the days where I was posting 100+ posts a day and reading every single post made on the site... to today, where I rarely check outside of the Life section.

My mom's best friend from when she was a kid's son who is obsessed with video games told me about it in August of 03(the 18th, really). That night I signed up. We go to the boardwalk and see everyone on DDR and stuff like that. I played the game a few times, then I just started to go to the chat a lot. I used to be a LOT different.

Way back in early 2003 I found this site. I don't really know how... Probably just through random internet searching. I just played it for a while without signing up for the forums. It was at least 5 months before I signed up.

I remember the first time I went to the site, which was probably late 2002. It wouldn't work or something so I just gave up and was like man this sucks. But then I found it again and yeah. I missed some good forum times, though

I don't care when I started posting/joined the forums. I started playing FFR back in 2003-05-12 12:32:26 (taken off of my ffr stats ).

Anyways, A friend was showing another one of my friends at his house and we were trying to get on the highscores list (playing chronotrigger) because one friend had a bet with some girl. We had known about DDR emulation for about 1-2 years because of DelightDelightReduplication and DietDietRevolution so the transition wasn't that hard. Anyways, when I got home I signed up and started playing. After a few days the highscores on megaman were filled with my friends scores (nikoisgod if anyone remembers that). That was for the most part, the only song that we played. *note at this time, they were just putting in the classical section and I remember hidden songs like 50cent in da club and dubidub or whatever its called.

Lost interest to Stepmania because SM was newer at the time (I still have version 1.4 on my computer 8)) and there were more songs. Got back into FFR around May 31, 2004 when I started playing again becasue another frined brought it up in Chem. Signed up to the forums but didn't post for a while.

Then last summer I learned about Index and started playing constantly, I was addicted. Started off in the brag board, only but soon was visiting most of the boards frequently. Now, Hardly a day goes by without me stopping by to check on whats going on.

After all that, I'm probably forgetting a few things but most of that was so long ago that I forgot the details, so meh.

James called me and was like "Yo Jason, I got my site up. Come check it out." And I'm like "You're lame man", and never bothered to check it out.

Months later I saw this site as part of a network on a porn site I was looking at it. I had totally forgot James made it, and didn't know his online username was "Synthlight". I clicked, and was here for a while before I found out it was him. I felt betrayed, but it did clear up why a game site such as this was part of a porn network.

I saw someone playing it in my CompSci class senior year (back in September or October of '02). I had played a bit of DWI, so I was decent to start out and blow away everyone else in the class. It was addicting, so I continued. Didn't look at the forums until March of '04, though.

Note: I originally came to the site in December '02. Originally registered account May '03. Forum join date is in January '04 for some reason =\.

Now.

I believe it was when I was getting into Flash stuff (aka the making of), as well as when I was getting into DDR. These interests mixed, and I somehow or another stumbled across FFR.

I only even remember it's December '02 because I found the favorites icon on my downstairs computer dated 'December 12, 2002' or something for last modified.
