Default RE: Re: RE: Why Do You Really Play DDR?

I play it because the Pump machine is too far away.

No, seriously, I play it because it's fun. I'm pretty good at sports, I wouldn't consider myself a nerd, I'm not overweight, etc. I just tried it because they got it at my arcade soo long ago. I kept playing because it was fun. I guess it does keep me in shape for track and cross country and all, though.

The crowds are nice, though. Once I think I got 20+. Another nice thing is money from tourneys Gotta love that. And, I guess if the weight thing had to help anything, like djshox said, it's nice to be able to eat a whole box of Krispy Kremes, especially since they just opened one in my area, heheh.

PUMP>DDR
I love DDR and i now the only reason i play is so i can get better at it. When i first started playing it i thought i was god because i could beat dam dariram easy (3rd mix). Of course no one at my school even know what it was at the time Its really turned into an addiction.

Truth be told, I have no clue why you asked that question. But the reason I play DDR is because it is fun, great excercize (Sorry if I spelt that wrong), and some of the songs are cool.

There are a number of reasons, all of which center around my addiction to gaming. (No, seriously, I think I really am addicted.)

The reasons are numerous:

-Make friends
-It's something I know I'm good at and am respected for it
-Working out
-Lose myself in the game (it's so hard just facing reality sometimes...you know?)
-I never really was that coordinated as a kid, and I'm trying to fight that now

I got started with DDR during the school-sanctioned All-Knight Party after commencement (yes, our mascot really was the Knights...and they mispronounced my name at the diploma-giving part! ), and I happened to notice some people playing it. Well, I happened to have a friend one year behind me that sometimes entered DDR tourneys, so I decided to give it a shot. I remember weeping in frustration that I couldn't pass anything, then I was weeping with joy when I passed Remember You on Light. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Actually, it's not. I've seen a LOT better. It's just a bunch of feet movement, that's all. And the song is 'After the Game of Love'. Really easy song overall.

I play DDR for exercise, to draw crowds, to impress the DDR guys around here (HUGE skill gap.. nobody can even come close to clearing Max 300, or haven't even got a single AA) and to basically just have fun. The 10's are so much fun, but they're getting way too easy now. I can FC LoM probably, and I have FCed MaxX Unlimited and Max 300.. PSMO is the only thing left to AA.

I've also seen someone better doing an actual FREESTYLE, without knowing the steps exactly, around here in Orem.

I'm not sure if I like crowds or not. I like playing with another without anyone watching though a lot more than by yourself with people watching. Maybe a combo of the two is good.

Default well..

i think that the reason ddr is so addicting is because it takes actually some what "skill" unlike any other game, and also its a game where you can compete with other people and win from the years of practice .. ddr lives on and yet that's another reason why, its a long lived game :P

Debateful on that? Yes. Most games take skill to do. For example, sniping someone. How quickly you can react, how fast you line up, keeping your bullets ready and not reloading in a critical moment. Then there's also strategy games like Fire Emblem. Where to place your person, whether to use the stronger or weaker weapon, who to send out in battle, etc etc etc. But DDR does have a much funner multiplayer though.

I do it not only because Its fun but also because its one of the only videogames that u can play while getting a workout. It is also a great way of getting people together and having fun with friends and family. Most of the people I know think I am really good and that makes me want to try even harder to get the high score. Since I got the home version, I have taught 5 people how to play and I always love to help people learn or improve.
