Meh, my good files are SM files now. Plus a lot of these are really old and even if I wanted to have some of my lesser remaining files pulled from the queue, it probably wouldn't work because they may be in the supersercrettourneyqueue. The Lunatic Princess, Brainwave and
Haruka have been pretty bad, and I guess the Entertainer was too repetitive, but I liked the others

And they're still better than Scythe

Don't say that. It makes me think that you're files are so low to the point where you have to compare with Scythe.

lol, jk.

is this the one where you talk about how terrible song ratings are?

Break out Break out (Heavy) on the first page of rock is not very difficult.
it's just bad steps. 2/3 of the song is on easy then you get this bar of idk what it is just very bad steps that are put in there for no reason and have nothing to do with the rest of the steps.
If you wanna make a song have a bar of random notes do it for the full song dont just throw it in at the end to make it harder to "AAA" so you can call it very difficult.

No, this was the right thread to discuss songs.

Apparently, people hate my stepfiles. The widget stuff I don't really care about. But apparently nobody likes my normal files. Most of the complaints in this thread have been about mine >.<

After this batch, I'm done w/ stepfiles.

Cutting songs is a good thing most of the time, unless there's some great reason not to...
You make a strong point, songs get too long!! But to say TTFAF or FOTS is to be in FFR, THAT rule would be ignored though, because they DO have a great reason to not be cut down

Down with long songs! Especially if they are beginner songs, I get bored out of my mind hitting notes spaced in 1 second intervals for 4 minutes straight.

Don't give up on simfiles. The more you make, the better you're going to get.

What do you think I've been doing since my hilariously retarded Electro Rush X8 simfile?

Does anyone else find the beginning of Song For The Nihonjins kind of annoying? It's these whole series of notes on one arrow, but at a normal volume I can't even hear the song, let alone figure out the rhythm. Actually I'm not too fond (in general) of any place in a song where the music gets very quiet but where we're still expected to hit all of the notes that we "hear", and I wish simfile artists wouldn't do that so much... oh well.

The whole file is annoying. a boring 4 minute+ difficult file.
Also Xander, don't give up. I have 2 of the worst simfiles (well, at least for regulars, not beginners... they love me, hehe) in game but I am still making files and I hope to get some more accepted once the queue opens again.

I've noticed a lot of the easy difficulty have these weird looking steps. I looked at them and thought they were some kind of very fast gallop(that wouldn't make sense on an easy song) but when i just did it as a double i got a perfect on both notes either my eye sight is dieing or the steps are lame. -Terror From Beyond
Also on one song i played on easy(forgot the name it's like 136.6) when it did just a reapeat of the left arrow over and over it looked like they werent all going with the same speed.. like some were spaced together odd... but when i just kept tapping at the same pace i got perfects. Is my eyesight or are the steps just really low quality?

no if your files are **** then DONT keep trying to get them in ffr

put them in the database because thats where crap files belong

i dont want to have to play ****ty ass files so just leave it to the people who know what theyre doing

this isnt kindergarten, people dont care about you making progress

this being said, i like scythe because the jumps were fun as ****

Darklightning, a lot of those files (Terror from beyond, 136.6, etc.) were files made when the game was just a weee baby. Synthlight basically made those files by playing the song, then hitting the arrow keys while it was playing to make steps, recording live. So, obviously, they aren't very accurate.

At least, I'm pretty sure how they're made. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

maybe that's because you don't know the difference between write and right.

and, as Xander said... a few of the very early blue-note files are that way. in the initial build of FFR, the engine couldn't handle jumps. so jumps had to be 1 frame off, aka... mini-gallops. that was quickly fixed, and it only appears in the VERY VERY early levels. and no, they will not be fixed.

Post Re: Ingame Songs/Stepfiles Discussion Thread

Heres a List of sorta accurate and enjoyable Songs.
7. V1 Sitter 1 Ventrilo Och Spelar DotA- It's a great song(and funny for anyones who has played dota) and the steps follow the song most of the time. The steps just feel like they belong to this song very fun to play.

6. Hungaria n Dance #5- Although this song has big clumps of notes that are hard for a 1 hander it's still excellent. I see absolutely nothing wrong with the steps it's has an arrow for every note(I think) so it feels like you're actually playing the song.

5. Legend of Zelda Remix- The only song i have seen with an actual entertaining background a enjoyable little piece very easy. The special part at the very end is funny for beginners.

4. Roses and Butterflies [Heavy]- A really great song this is another song where it feels like the steps belong to this song the accuracy doesn't really matter for this one cause the steps are fun and easy.(The difficulty of the song is about tricky it does have a couple interesting parts at the end where the dude went crazy on doubles)

3. Stay With Me {Unlikely} FFR V2- while i wont speak about the first version the second is very good. The steps are accurate(or at least i think they are) and it's a very easy song. A great song for a beginner that can afford to buy it.

2. American in Amsterdam [Heavy}- ok ok i only picked this song because i like the music... but the steps are good too i like how in this song the steps follow the vocals for most of the song(if they aren't then it is really bad steps).

1. Lemonade [Heavy] - i just think the steps are brilliant in this song. They are really fun and orginal and go with the song very well. The song itself isnt to bad also.

yeah... i dont really believe in anything past difficult because most of the steps are a joke... with a few exceptions.(you cant put in more arrows then notes in the song dudes)

Anyways try out some of those songs they are some of the few entertaining songs on this site.
