Default Re: Permissions for FFR by JX

Glad I discovered this thread just now. I have several artists that I would like to get permission for. All of the songs I'd like to do from these artists are on CDs:

High on the list +++
Ryo Ohnuki (http://www.mainframes.org/strikes/)
off-beat (http://www.muzie.co.jp/cgi-bin/artist.cgi?id=a012494) [not much on his muzie site; the song I'm aiming for is on a CD]
HALF LIFE (help! can't find info or email on this artist)*
RANDO: (DJ RHYXON) (http://www.muzie.co.jp/cgi-bin/artist.cgi?id=a000932)
DJ TECHNORCH (http://www.technorch.com/ OR http://www.myspace.com/technorch)

Some more artists
OS-E (http://www.muzie.co.jp/cgi-bin/artist.cgi?id=a014655)
syatten (http://www.muzie.co.jp/cgi-bin/artist.cgi?id=a011194) [not much on his muzie site; the song I'm aiming for is on a CD]

*here's a link to the song I would be doing in regards to this artist: http://www.diverse.jp/cd-bemani/d12.shtml (track 8)

Would much appreciate contacting the artists that are on the top of my list; others would be nice if time permits. Especially thankful if you find HALF LIFE and get permission. Thanks!

We tried m1dy last year. He said no because he has a license with Konami now or something

Try this artist. They seem to make pretty decent music. They are on Muzie, by the way.

You say we have permission from beatMario (cool&create)
Does this mean that they are the same? I am wondering because in albums by cool&create not all the songs are by the same artist. I am wondering if perhaps these are all aliases of the same person or if they are different people. Do we have permission for all of them. For example http://www.pooshlmer.com/touhouwiki/...82%A4%E3%82%AF
The artist for the tracks is not the same but the album is by cool&create. Would we have permission for all of these songs or just the ones by beatMario (tracks 1,4,6,9 and 11)

And if infact we have permission for all of the different artists under cool&create albums, how should they be credited in the simfile. Artist as cool&create or as the specific artist listed?

EDIT:
Sorry, one more question. You say we need to cut IOSYS songs. Is this just because most of them are too long, or did IOSYS actually say we have to. As in if there's a song that's only 2:00 anyway, would we have to cut it?

Thanks.

sry for being late.

behanjc:

You can use ALL songs in any of cool&create's CDs, independent of the song author.
Song author should be credited, and link should be "http://cool-create.cc/".

As for IOSYS's song, recommendation of song length is under 2:00 (at most, 2:30).
The reason is the author(IOSYS) said.
If the song is originally under 2:00, you don't have to cut it.

oh I should go get some when I have time.

Well can I send the song I stepped that's about 3:42 in the next batch, and if it gets accepted, then negotiate cutting?

Thanks Jimerax for the artists you've contacted so far. Oh yeah, when you ask t+pazolite, please specify the song I've mentioned in your email; otherwise, he would probably say the same thing about permission as stated on his web site.

And Remo-con would be awesome. How much does he want in royalties? The good thing is that at least he didn't say an outright "no". That's kinda exciting for me.

I haven't asked the detail so I don't know, but I highly doubt we can pay royalty for remo-con's songs.

Did you get permission from LUV2? I'm only assuming because it is a Japanese artist with a song in game. Do we have blanket permission or were you not the one to get permission?

2 artists on this page. Don't know how likely permission is from either, but it seems in reach. From what I've heard I would like to step some Kryptos.

We had Kenji Ito?!?!? Does this expired permission mean we can't get him back? I would love to step something from Romancing saga.

Expired means that JX asked for permission but it has been too long with no reply so it's assumed as a no.

If I understand correctly

For the record, my file for Death Piano already has a .swf for FFR and I've already played it in FFR. It could be put in the game in like ten seconds if necessary (and I'm home).

Just saying.

p.s. it's failable at the end with the 32nd trill. lmao.
