Etienne, that split play on Scarhand was an incredible addition to the showcase. Also thanks for having the HEYYEYAAEYAAAEYAEYAA in there, it shows that you can also have fun playing the game outside of just intense play (the singalong was a nice touch).

Overall, great sportsmanship and Staiain had some great points about goals and self improvement towards the game. I'm very proud of both of you -- thanks for this.

It was a fun showcase, I was surprised by the lack of "wow who cares this isn't a speedrun", was expecting more hate towards Stepmania for stealing a bit of AGDQ's time.

Makes me want to be more active in the community but seeing the bar so high is so discouraging aaaaaa

hey, I've seen people dedicated enough to it that they reach dangerous levels of speed & skill in the game in under a year. Given enough time, and enough effort, people can do practically anything they want.

if we're trying to attract new players:

stepmania options/config menu should be streamlined considerably, considering new players won't have a clue as to what to do

setting up stepmania is a pain atm, i don't know where minaciousgrace posted the same thing before but i agree 100% with him on that

I was watching this at work and I got nervous chills just sitting there watching, and I wasn't even the one who was up there playing! It takes incredible guts to do what you did, Staiain and Ettienne. You guys did the game justice. All of my coworkers were huddled around while I was watching, very intrigued. This is 4-key rhythm gaming's greatest day.

Obligatory post in legendary thread. Was at work and Twitch is blocked, so I watched the first Youtube video that showed up and got to see my coworkers' jaws drop. Great commentary from everybody and excellent job playing Staiain and Etienne. That split run was absolutely nuts. Favorite twitch chat comments were probably "I think Staiain's fingers are stronger than my whole body" and "WTF 99.80%, is this cookiezi?" You guys really delivered, congrats again.
