It'd be a pain in the ass I think. I'd want to make the main thread there, and we'd all have to register and use that site for the production, etc

people don't play stepmania to enjoy a file, they play stepmania to get scores
and then they post said scores and no one comments on them because everybody else is too busy posting scores

take a look at sm scores right now, for the last however long you'll find the following:
5+ people post scores
one person comes in and says "wow everyone's getting good"
that person posts scores
rinse and repeat

you'd get more submissions if you started a dump chancellor's pack

there is some truth to this although the degree of it we probably don't agree

this point notwithstanding, i think plenty of people currently stepping have the ability to make great simfiles, even at this "dark chancellor" level

there is nothing arcane, mystical, or unobtainable about it, as if the ability to make a good simfile vanished a few years ago with the departure of a lot of good old stepartists

I'm sure people are capable of making great simfiles, but that's certainly not the case with packs such as yolodumps, yolomania, cringefest, nb5, etc. There's almost no thought put into to files nowadays.

You pour hours into your simfiles, and when was the last time someone posted a score on, or even mentioned T&J? Last 100 Seconds? Either no one cares about interesting files enough to post scores on them, or they don't want to mention playing them because the current stepmania mindset is "nothing but icyworld js packs 24/7"

there are no simfile artists currently that could make files worthy of being in a pack even remotely related to dcp

we're getting a lot better at this btw
you were 100% right for yolo dumps and yolomania 1 and even most of yolomania 2, but I really do think a lot of our newer files are starting to actually get pretty decent, and we do tend to put quite a bit of thought into them now

i guess my main argument here is that while we're far from perfect, we are legitimately trying to get better
