-Chart quality is not very good, prob due to the fact it seems like they pretty much accept anything out of desperation, as well as giving people who have a minimum of 1 chart in game the ability to act like they know what they are talking about and rate a chart. This site prob could have had potential, but I think the somewhat smart ones in this were the main owners who dropped out because it seemed like the knew this project was a failure and not worth the time. This game/site is so far behind, you cant keep people just because you got good graphics. Sure FFR isn't perfect, but at least it's constantly coming up and adding new things to the site, doing more than just adding new songs to the game. TS just seems like a waste of time, and I see no reason to be over there.

first off, you're definitely not a person who should talking about chart quality - stop discouraging people that are new(er). p.s. FFR's judging is either a.) subjective as hell or b.) a measure of how well you can transcribe a song to four arrows -- obviously FFR isn't doing things right either if there are people complaining about song releases

second off: music choice is limited because yeah, people don't bother to make charts for more complex songs as frequently - it's much less of a chore to make a single good chart than it is to make four charts for everyone to play. granted, some of TS's earlier charts a bit harsh on the lower levels but no one had an idea on how to create easier charts that were required

third: the game has been improved in terms of performance, people are always submitting content and bugs have been fixed both on the main engine and on the simfiler engine (stepcloud), and a lot has been planned for the future. you don't even go on the site within public view so until you offer any sort of suggestions without being a complete prick about it, your point is invalid

fourth: forums are dead, not going to argue it. all that goes on is simfile review and occasional announcements. perhaps things would be a bit better if people didn't just generate this "lolTS" mentality and just avoid going there to be part of this circlejerk/bandwagon (oh hey, you called TS a circlejerk/bandwagon but I could easily pull an example so...?). and you obviously don't go into chat all the time if you associate TS complaining/whining about FFR, since most of the time, people are just sitting and having a good time. besides, if you guys are allowed to trash TS whenever you want, I'm sure that the TS community is entitled to have their opinion about why FFR is going downhill

fifth: you sit here and say that FFR is constantly adding content, but what are they adding other than new songs, hm? ThirdStyle adds new songs, new backgrounds, backstage pages for artists, front page posts for song releases - I fail to see where FFR adds more than TS does within public view, and in private view, aside from Velocity working on R^3, nothing is really being done. no announcements have been made about the upcoming site, and as far as I can see, all of the administrating staff is busy handling real-life priorities.

sixth: the community revolted against the original staff members (particularly, MalDON) because he wanted to treat it entirely like a business and didn't even want to accommodate for the most basic of suggestions. He even sat there and chastised/made fun of a user for a basic color scheme suggestion rather than just outright and politely saying no.

I obviously have a slight preference towards ThirdStyle in terms of community/activity, but I do play FFR just as much, and I typically don't have anything bad to say about it -- a good majority of ThirdStyle's active community were FFR regulars who moved on too. sorry, but I fail to see how you can justify reasoning behind anything when you don't go on the site a reasonable amount and don't bother to inquire anything without acting trolling/sounding like a moron. going on a joint account between you and whoever else just to pop in and say how the site is bad/has bad content doesn't count as you having a legitimate understanding of how the site works and why things are happening.

tl;dr: I agree with Toymaker

As I said before, I really encourage people to go to ThirdStyle, especially if they are newer simfile artists. I try to sit there and actually analyze things that simfilers can do better and help them out with extremely detailed reviews whenever I can. ThirdStyle has a lot of potential as a game with the way it's played (usage of speed changes/stops and whatnot), and more stepartists could be the way to making the game awesome.

It's another when he takes a rude tone and actually says things that simply aren't true. I'm in chat all the time and yeah, I won't deny that people in the chat have something to say about FFR once in a while, but it certainly isn't as frequent as he makes it out to be.

EDIT: Random edit: I find it funny that a lot of you have to screencut, haha. I only play A900 in the game and I use the full lane, no screencutting at all (including slowdowns). I guess it has to do with arrow size vs. how much space - pixel settings, etc.

Not to mention the fact that the only two people talking in some way negative about Thirdstyle in these most recent posts NEVER go on the website. Being staff on both, FFR for over 4 years and TS for the past several months, I can already see that TS is heading in a positive direction. It's crystal clear. FFR is wiping "inactive" multiplayer mods because the administration is too lazy to make a simple multiplayer mod client. However I would say before you talk shit about the website why not actually become a part of the community and get honest feedback?

i thought they had some cool music/charts, the only reason why i don't play it often is that i always have to screencut and am not very used to the timing at all. and because ive played on this site so much i prefer and enjoy playing ffr, but i dont see why people make ts out to be terrible lol

Because the permissions list sucks. Remember when Shiki wasn't telling people about permissions he got in chat? I guess TS could use some "permission polishing"

Also that part about FFR not adding content is quite possibly the dumbest part of your post. A major difficulty revamping just took place, we have more procedures for determining suspicious scores (oh hey, TS still has all those hijackers on the ranks and has like no way to tell cheaters!), we're improving the permissions list, the engine is getting more cool features added to it (meanwhile on TS you have ONE shitty noteskin that is an eyesore at fullscreen along with no mirror feature), and in general there's more on FFR being changed.

I'm sorry, but the attitude here is probably why change isn't as motivated as it potentially could be here. I'm surprised Jae has the patience to go through this jackassery and propose new ways to improve FFR.

I don't even say anything bad about TS but when some slight reasonable criticism gets spoken about it, TS blasts out in rage (sun)
