Secret Arrows, Av-misses, phpBB forums, oh the nostalgia.

I remember it was a huge deal when TGWP came out because it was the first file to have fully functioning noteskins.

I can't remember when exactly backgrounds died, I think Pondering Stuff was the last one to have a background.

I remember that pageflip bug that let you play songs that you didn't have access to. If you tried to play an empty space with it it gave you an offsync version of Tetris Remix.

Thanks for the memories, folks. u da bes

Re: Who here remembers the good ole days...?

Wow, I remember the many layout changes over the years. The one I first saw (July 2006) was my favorite. Anyone have a picture of it? Also, I remember mashing to songs and accidentally hitting the secret arrow thingys. I remember that when I made a Brag Board thread, I posted about AAAing DDR Official songs that were 8 footers. And that the first legendary thread I posted in was Sashakiro (yes, his name was spelled wrong :P): Selfish Bastard by A2_Sauce. I was being nooby and posting crap like "OMGZ EVERY TIME I REFRESH A NEW PAGE COMES UP!!!!!!!!!!11111111". That was when AAAing SuperMario 80s Remix was a big deal to me and I posted it in the FFR scores thread and made a noobish thread about it. Heck, I was proud to post a 8-0-0-0 score on Mario back in the day. I even remember when FOTBB was difficulty blank. Also, my first song was This Beat is For the Streets! and I thought that in the Arcade section, SuperMario read Superman. XD Oh, the good times of mid-2006. We should make an FFR yearbook for all the memories!
My real birthdate is November 6, 1995 but I'm keeping it as '92 for nostalgic reasons. Lol.

Ah yes, but at the time (and still) my accuracy sucked, so even if I had used secret arrows, no one would have known.

post-dumps abstractly represent the existential nihilism that the song invokes in the listener with negative space, evoking the ephemeral nature of the mind - the journey of stepmania begins in hope yet soon becomes corroded into a dialectic of futility, leaving only a sense of dread and the unlikelihood of a new synthesis

I did hit a secret arrow once, and only once. On Secret Zombie Room, by complete accident. You know there's that three or four second gap when the music's playing but there aren't any notes yet? I was talking to a friend while it was loading, then heard the song start and panicked, hitting the keypad. A few boos, but one came out as a perfect.

Didn't matter though, because I was still very unskilled at the time and got like 10 misses on that play. XD

I always used that to play the secret songs I didn't have all the time

I've been here for about 3 years so I guess I can say I've seen old times.

I remember seeing Secret Zombie Room as an insane challenge, and then when I got "really good" and could get like 200 combo on a FGO (force of light) I thought I was boss.

Lol I didn't even bother going on the forums for a while. I had no clue who Shash was.
I have some catching up to do. Goodness.

I think that there should be a sticky stating all of the updates that were made to FFR in chronological order. A log of some sort.

Or have all of the front page news title links listed on one post.

wow, no one said anything about synthetic ffr edit being cut, because the end was unfull comboable. this isn't as old, but lw IV had a long ending, but cut that out. i remember the difficulties being totally messed up. along with being able to play secret songs you didn't have. i found that out on my own. jx made a chart with all the songs on it (like 20 or so) and had a color for AAA/FC/no where near AAA, something along those lines. i went back to the news post to june 06, and start something was the first new song released when i joined. dang, that was long ago. and shortly after that, EHHS was released. i remember it wasn't even skinned right. XD oh so many songs wrongfully skinned back then.
