Re: Choof's Solord Style Tournament!

I'm new to solo, never really picked it up (although I tried). Is this for pros only? Cuz I failed about 150 arrows in I think -.-

I could have maybe facerolled to pass, but that would suck to play like that all the time, AND I like my keyboard. XDDD

Re: Choof's Solord Style Tournament!

Many people here haven't even played solo before. It's a tournament from beginners to experts.

Make sure to play the placement songs now so Choof can determine your division placement.

How does scoring work on SM btw? I don't understand how a score like this:

is better than this:

Re: Choof's Solord Style Tournament!

Machine score shouldn't be taken into consideration because it varies depending on your performance. e.g. If you do well in the beginning but bomb the ending of a file, the machine score will differentiate greatly if you do it the other way around. All in all, just look at your raw scoring, not the DP or MS.

Re: Choof's Solord Style Tournament!

In the OP it says "Scoring will be DP (or score based, if I can't find a good DP calculator)".
How does DP work? Like how much do misses, almosts, etc. affect DP?

also D1 players with better DP then me \o/

Re: Choof's Solord Style Tournament!

Each judgment basically amounts to a certain number of points, though I don't remember the actual numbers. As an example to get the idea across though:

Flawless = 3 points
Perfect = 2 points
Great = 1 points
Good = 0 points
Boo = -1 points
Miss = -2 points

Applying this to whatever score you get would get raw DP out of an amounted total. Unfortunately, the DP scoring built into 3.9/3.95 is inaccurate and broken, so you have to manually calculate it. I'm not sure if they fixed that in SM5 but regardless of which, it's safer to just calculate it ourselves. Though at a glance of a score, people can more or less determine how well they did compared to others.
