So yesterday, I was in transit between work places. About halfway through I was driving through an intersection where I had to dodge what looked like a piece of shredded tire like you would see on the highway. Thinking nothing of it I drove around it but I looked at it the moment I passed it and it looked back at me >___>!!! My ****ing heart felt an instant horror so I slammed my brakes skidding 1000 gallons of diesel and my truck a long time before we got stopped. Stopping traffic both ways I got out and ran to it, finding out its a 2-3 week old kitten that had been hit by a car

I rushed him to the vets as he was in pretty bad shape but still showing signs of survival. He was meowing, crawling around etc so definitely trying to survive. The extent of his injuries were a little worse than what I could see on the surface. I seen the flesh on his lower jaw was torn to shreds and I figured one of his front legs were broken as he wasn't able to place weight on it although it wasn't hurting him it seemed. He had blood coming from pretty much every orifice in his face, nose, ears, mouth, just looked completely grim as to him surviving.
This morning I contacted the vets and I believe my prayers had been answered, the kitten ate a small breakfast, his bleeding stopped, he's been trying to walk and he's been responding extremely well to attention as any kitten should. They are monitoring him till Monday to make sure he doesn't have any critical underlying problems that might make him worse and come early Monday if he's still improving, their gonna sew his jaw skin back on(they can only patch it at this time) and they'll prep him to get ready to have his leg amputated(it lost all nerves and has no functionality at all with it).
So I'm continuing my hopes that he'll continue to improve and by Monday I'm praying he will be good enough for surgery. He will be my little miracle kitten. Struck by car only to go to my house to live a life of shitting on my carpet rather than in the litter box xD
