When you name the folder you put your song in...

    It should be
    Song title (Steppers name)

    here's why:
It makes it a lot easier to find a song when you are searching for it on your computer especially if you don't know who stepped it. I've noticed it is common to use:

    (Steppers name) Song title

and this makes it very hard to find your file in a pack because you can't just type "m" and find a song like Mirage Garden by Ghakimx. You'd have to know exactly who stepped it and then go through the files that person has in the pack until you find it. It's just a time saver and good organization.

This is just something I thought I would say before another pack is released that looks like (Steppers name) Song title

TLDR: Use Song Title (Steppers Name)

I always prioritize the simfile artist, but yeah its better to put the title first for organisation reasons lol

Or just do song title with no stepper name. It shouldn't be a problem unless you're stepping really popular songs.

I always put my name first since i never get songs into packs. I get what your saying it does make more sense.

This is definitely the reason why rhythm gaming is going down XD

Yea good point, but when you look at it, it may serve the purpose of organizing each simfile author together right? Let's say you were organizing an unreleased pack and you needed to see who contributed what and how much they contributed. Wouldn't you like to organize it by simfile author? I think renaming each folder could be an option for everything before the pack is released, grouping by creator is more reasonable.

I completely agree icy, and yeah that bugs the hell outta me

@ddrxero: I think the more common scenario is a person downloading the pack and playing it. Organizing by author for a pack is only beneficial to the organizer of a pack, and that's, what, 1-3 people?

True. I think it comes down to how lazy a pack leader is. Honestly, way too many people use the current format. It takes longer to remind everyone to do it differently, where as renaming all the folders yourself when the pack is ready for release is much easier. It takes a couple of minutes and will cause less hassle during the submission period.

I don't see how grouping a simfiles artists submissions together in a song pack is more practical than making it easier to find a specific file in a matter of seconds. If you want to find out all of a persons submissions to a pack it's always possible to ctrl+f and type their name provided that the simartists name is on the folder. This assures both easy findings for specific files and it gives credit immediately on the folder name.
I find it to be a more common need to find a specific file than a group of submissions.

Another thing to mention, is what if the pack only allows one file per person. Subjectivemanias really ****ed it up when they used (Steppers name) Song title because there is only 1 author per pack submission, and that made the order in which the song titles appear almost completely random.

if i said find cairo nairo and it were like this but a 1000 times more people it would be aids to find it. unless ctrl+f
ps this pack is still amazing, i just don't like how the folders are named

I guess you're right. I can't really say much, I don't lead packs nor do I play by artists, so this issue isn't as much of a bother to me. But I understand what you're saying. Such a librarian haha
