    Average Rank vs Overall Rank

    Haha, just noticed that my average rank is significantly lower than my overall rank. I noticed that this tends to be the opposite of most FFR players from what I recently observed. Should I interpret this is a good sign or a bad sign?

      That would indicate that you're getting higher ranks on songs in less time than other people.

              My avrank is higher than my overall rank therefore I suck.

                  It's a decent sign, more of a sign that you haven't overplayed what you are capable of yet, my average rank has been below my overall rank but the overall rank is steadily catching up. Once you reach a certain point your average rank will drop much slower while your overall rank will continue to climb since you will still be piling up points with each game played.

                      Ya my average rank was a lot lower than my overall for a while and then suddenly I hit a brick wall, mainly because I kept playing certain songs over and over to get fc's... If you want to keep your average down.
                      Keep playing different songs.

                          Average rank will always be better. You could simply play excite bike for the rest of your life and get the most points while in the mean time proving nothing at all. Go for ranks if you really want to make an "impact" on this website.

                                      Just to clear things up: I am not asking which rank is better (it seems like many people seem to be responding as if I'm asking that.) I just wanted to discuss average / overall ratio. Anyways, my recent goal has been to play every song at least once because my av rank won't be good if I have "0's" in my level stats. I guess since I haven't been playing the same songs over and over again (except my favs) my av rank has been increasing quickly in proportion to my overall rank.

                                          You may find some people with relatively crappy average ranks that are phenomenal at this game. Some people just really don't care to AAA any of the low songs.

                                          Basically, your average rank/overall rank ratio means very little unless you're someone like smartdude who has 2/2.

                                              my average rank and overall rank is exactly the same lmao 765 on both, im sure thats strange. but average is always better, overall means nothing, just shows how much u play the game compared to another player,

                                                          You should interpret this as a good sign. The lower your overall rank gets, the more impressive it is to have an even lower av. rank. When you're starting out, one play on a song significantly impacts your av. rank. As your levelrank improves, you are still achieving overall points at the same rate, making av. rank/overall rank ratio harder to maintain.
