I had an average rank of 2 and an overall rank of 380+ before the FFR crash.. I already had like 1.5 years worth of rhythm game experience prior to starting FFR though

Edit: Xayphon has an overall rank of 786 and an average rank of 1<< This was because he had a previous account, but the current best ratio afaik

For a long time, my overall rank was higher than my average rank. But after trying to lower my average rank by AAAing like 20 songs per day rofl, the table turned around at 69 (rofl). Now my average rank is very low compared to my overall rank.

As for interpretation, the fact that overall rank exists shouldn't matter much about whether this ratio is "good". It just shows how much you can achieve higher ranks in a low amount of time. You can take that as a good thing or not.

Overall rank means/proves nothing to reflect your actual skill for this game, just shows how much you play it. Its not really a brag worthy achievement to have.

Average rank which is reflecting your actual skill is more important and should be focused on a lot more then overall rank.

You may find some people with relatively crappy average ranks that are phenomenal at this game. Some people just really don't care to AAA any of the low songs.

Average rank sometimes doesn't even show the true skill of someone, I just don't have the umpth to aaa lower lever songs because they're boring as shit. Overall rank is based on grandtotal, so that just shows how much you whore the game.

That would indicate that you're getting higher ranks on songs in less time than other people.

I'm actually kind of curious to know what a breakdown of 'x people have this avrank or lower' would look like. Example: According to the top avrank list only 1000 people have avrank ~2600 or lower, although theoretically you could have as many as 5,200+ with that if scores were distributed very strangely.

Basically, your average rank/overall rank ratio means very little unless you're someone like smartdude who has 2/2.

OMG THIS. Rock is single-handedly the most rage-inducing genre in the game as half of the level 6 and under songs are over 3 minutes. It's so hard to keep the PA focus going for that long it's not even funny, and when you do end up getting a BF or whatever, your rank sucks because it's so "easy" there are 1000 AAAs before you.

Both my ranks suck ass, but it's mainly due to the fact that I can't bring myself to play anything lower than a 9 anymore.

when i use to care about playing ridiculously, and looking good with the avrank. it was about 95 avrank, and my highest point was 19 for overall. I'm now at 215, and 48. D:

My overall rank is 339 but my avg rank is 10k because i have like 200+ 0's on songs because i havent played all of them yet :/

One day I'll fix all my scores and play what I haven't and then I'll be back to lower avg rank. =P For now, I've still played plenty, so I have a better overall rank than avg song rank.
