    [Zaggy] First 'real' song!!

    I'd totally forgotten about the fact that FFR wasn't online when I made this.

      Good track there, Adam, really. I liked very much the main synth you used and, if it gets a stepfile, I hope for something streamy, haha. Keep up the good job, man.

              It would be fun to write a stepfile to this .... makes me think of a jump stream in the beginning.

                  Fine tune. Well written, even if it is oddly mixed. Desperately needs drums.

                  Hey Zage, you mind if I remix this? I could easily see myself turning this into a completely rocking hardcore tune. That melody is too awesome not to be loud and hard as ****.

                  If yes, send the FLP/MIDI/Whatever project file my way.

                                      I pretty much agree spot-on with Starshot. I definitely love all the harmonies and such, but the mixing could use some work. I'm also not too sure if drums would work with it, but that's something to experiment with (they'd definitely add some spark to the high-end).

                                      The first (and very common) problem I hear in the mix is that the bass doesn't have its own room to really breathe. The arp (which I really enjoy, btw, good choice of instrument) and bellish lead both clash with it a lot. Most of the time this clashing (aka muddiness) happens around the 300Hz range, so experimenting with cutting and such around there might help the tune's clarity a lot.

                                      At around 1:48 I felt as if something dramatic should have happened, maybe like some really bright harmonious pad or something, I dunno.

                                      Overall, really nice job. The definite worst part of this song is its ending, so abrupt! Keep it up man.

                                          I'm a noob when it comes to actually working with the programs to create music. How on earth do I 'mix'? I've used the mixer thing to adjust the volume levels of each track... but I don't know what you mean by cutting the 300Hz range. Equalizer built in?

                                          Maybe I should spend some time learning the program before I try more music. :P

                                              Mhm.

                                              Under the FX Mixer (hit f9), you can add 8 effects to each one of those "inserts." To EQ, put either Parametric EQ or Para EQ2 in one of those slots (You can EQ with other things, but it's unnecessary). Learning how to use an equalizer, production-wise, is probably the best think you can do right now, seems like you already got arrangement covered. :P

                                                      Good song, seems like it would be difficult to make an interesting stepfile with seeing as it would probably be pretty repetitive.

                                                          Yes. It would not be a very good stepfile. :P

                                                          I have a few songs in the works. I don't know how they will turn out, but I'm hoping for the best. :] (Will probably finish over winter break.)
