I finally got back into my main account, and I want some advice here now, because I'm not sure whether or not to quit FFR...for these reasons:
I DID lose a significant amount of skill while I was gone, however 2 weeks before the site came back up I was playing ffr.lightdarkness' version and could AAA Crash the Beat, Purple, EHHS v1, and the really easy songs like Tori no uta and Chaoz Japan. I come back now, only 2 weeks later, and can't AAA Chaoz japan nor Tori no uta, hell I can't even BF them. On {Rose} I hit 5 goods before I even reach the stream! Is this my skill? I thought so, but I remembered I was doing fine just two weeks ago on the mirror, so then is it the site revamped? Or a mix of both? Right now, FFR is lagging like crap for me, the songs occasionally freeze in the middle of them, and are choppy, but for those that remember me, I would complain about that constantly back when I was AAA'ing FMO's and FGO's, so that shouldn't be the problem, although it seems much more severe right now. Maybe you do, but do you know how frustrating it is to come back from being 7th best overall rank with every song below VC AAA'd and half the FMO's then you come back to finish the job and can't even AAA a Very Difficult song.
Due to what may be technical problems in the game with the site just coming back up, or it could just be lag I previously accommodated myself to and forgot how to play with it, either way, until the site is fully up and running, I won't know if my skill is so dramatically decreased that I will be so discouraged that I won't play anymore, or it's just the lag.
This wouldn't bother me knowing the site has issues, except I'm hearing people are coming back and BF'ing October and still AAA'ing FMO's and FGO's. That's fine for them, and that's not the reason I'm mad, reason I'm mad is my computer is running at it's optimum power, I've adjusted flash player and other programs, and cleared nearly all my ram and mem to factory defaults (this is my old comp I played FFR on, when I went to college I got a new one for CS).
So this means that since other people can still get these scores with this atrocious lag, it most be my skill, but I will still not know for a long time, and that upsets me. I've gone quite a while without FFR, and Stepmania for that matter, because I thought it was gone for good and just moved on with my life. I'm in college now, and have other stuff, but FFR was a huge part of my life, and as you remember, I used to write rants and wine all the time, that's who I am, and I am now seriously thinking about quitting if I can't even AAA Chaoz Japan after 20 tries, I mean, as I said, 2 weeks ago I AAA'd all the aforementioned songs almost everytime I played them. No one gets this bad, but I can't tell.
I don't know, I'm blabbering now, I am just scared that I'll never be good again, lag or no lag. So anyone else gonna quit or move on? Anyone else having terrible choppy lag? I was so happy to get back into my account and start playing, just to realize I can't do ****, wow...this was a lame thread, sorry guys, I'm just kinda disappoint at myself...
waiting for the tl;dr
