    [Suggestion] Involving Replay Saving

I realize that you can only save a total of five replays. Now, there ARE some tricks that can be done to save these replays to your hard drives, but not everyone is this computer literate.

With this known, my suggestion is to provide an option to save the replay onto said computer. This option, for the sake of bandwidth, would only be available to the person who aquired that replay in the first place.

As a note, should this option be used, the original should be removed from FFR, also for bandwidth reasons.

This allows people to use external hosts to hold more replays, yet cause less stress on FFR.

This is a theory, and could be wrong in many many ways. Post replies on what you think.

Suggested many times. Tass has agreed. WIP.

I don't see why you can't just camstudio the replays...

And before anything, replays have to be avmiss free.

Ah, I pulled a search and didnt see any posts on it... then again, I fail with navigating these forums sometimes. >_<

Also, not everyone's computer has enough power to camstudio at a decent framerate.

Since this has already been agree'd upon, then there's no use for this thread... except maybe discussing how it works exactly. ^_^

you could also subscribe, which gives you more replays to save and more replays before they all clear.

i think it's 15/100 instead of 5/5. i forget what the exact numbers are.

Tass, it's not purely the amount. Giving this ability means people can host these recorded files elsewhere, meaning less bandwidth needs to be used for them. If you REALLY wanted to go far, you could force non-subscribers to use a third party for all replays, but i'm not sure you want to do that.

Never the less, it just gives people a second feature and less headaches.

P.S. As for what Replays are for, it can be used to showoff, see where and why you messed up or as a record of your best play. Depends on the person.

as far as showing off goes, you can just Screenshot.

see where you messed up, just watch it once or twice, memorize it, and yer done.

                Again, best play, just screenshot.

This isn just my opinion :/

Screenshots don't give as much information.

"Hey, I beat this song with only one miss!"

Example A: Guy misses a hard note, not such a big deal.

Example B: Guy misses an easy to hit note, everyone laughs at him.

                  See the difference? Yeah, gogo.

btw, you're entitled to your opinion. There is actually nothing wrong about it, but there -are- other views, thus giving reason to replays.

First off they may wanna solve the av-miss fix, eh? Replays are pretty much useless currently, unless you wanna take a SS to help yourself on mental blocks.

Yup, fix avmisses, otherwise this wouldn't even be practical.

I need moar things to fill my hard drive with so I like this =)

                        Same, it's 5/100 for me.

AVMiss? I've heard of this bug before, never really paid attention to it since i've never had an issue with replays....

Then again I suck to begin with, so I might not have noticed it :P

I'm going to dig up some posts so I can get up to speed, in the mean time. Judging by the seriousness of the posters, I would agree to fix said bug first, however, something like this COULD sit as a 'possible in the future' item. lol.

I have more inventive suggestions, but many of them aren't going to be agree'd upon unless I throw money at FFR staff. lol.
