    The File is Corrupted or Invalid

    ... whenever I try to download a SIM from sims. Trying to download a Children of Bodom song, but it gave me Corrupted or Invalid message. Then I tried another file. Didn't work. Then I tried a file that I downloaded previously and worked before. This time it didn't work. It appears none of the files I download from SIMS work and all give me Corrupted or Invalid message. What could be the problem

    Oh and sorry, I realized this was a forum for R1 problems only, but AFTER I posted D=

    Since double posting is not good, how do I respond to something? For example UnknownMan asked me what browser I use (the answer is FF by the way). Have mercy on this poor idiot, I'm not new to FFR but I'm very new to the forums (and forums in general). Also tell me what I need to know about the forums that isn't on the rules that Tasselfoot posted.

      Make sure you don't leave the page where you're downloading from... oh and don't double post.

              Well, for one, don't double post. It just pisses us off.

              Second, what internet browser are you using? Cause I'm using FF and it works like a charm.

                      yes, I am still seeing this issue... it is saying it's corrupted and likely a file transfer issue. Using FF3. Tried in IE7 with a rar, still corrupted.

                                  Double posting is when you leave a post two times in a row before someone else has posted. You're welcome to respond to any post in a new post so you can get other peoples' attention that you have new information.

                                  Another thing that you should know is to not intentionally start a thread in the wrong place of the forums to try to get more attention or make multiple threads of the same topic in different places.

                                      Yeah I know this was the wrong spot... I saw something like "report here for bugs," but failed to realized it was only for only for the game >< Thanks btw for telling me.

                                          so... here's the story... I've asked JasonKey, devonin, and Destiny all to look into this... devonin/destiny reported no issues... IE7 only. Jason has tried in FF2 and IE7 and had no issues except for, i believe, one time... and then myself, who has tried in FF3 and IE7 and gets errors every time.

                                          so, basically, we have no logical explanation as to why this is happening. especially given the fact that we haven't TOUCHED the simfile database in months.

                                          unless we can make a connection between the users who are having these problems (myself included), we have no way of fixing it for those users.

                                                      I have no idea what info we need. I have no clue what's causing it... and it seems silly to try to list off every single thing that we have as part of our respective machines to attempt to piece together which 1 or grouping of things is causing it.

                                                      IF that is even what the reasoning is.

                                                          I have a small idea. Try other computers/laptops in your house or at another friend's house. Try to find similar details like the type of computer, whether or not it's a laptop or desktop, windows version, graphics card, security options, dual core, etc, etc, etc. It might be a lot of work, but we don't really have much of a choice if we want to download more songs for Stepmania. For others reading this and suffer the same problem but don't want to help (you lazy bastards =P) you can just find another computer that can get the files uncorrupted and just email/share/whatever to your main computer. If you people have Limewire I guess you guys can use that too =D

                                                          I got some info! I tried my dad's computer and it worked! The instant noticeable difference of his computer to mine is that HE HAD A DIFFERENT VERSION OF WINZIP. HIS IS 8.0. Lets try that =D
