    Gears of War 2 Announced!

    It's true! At GDC 2008, they have announced a sequel to Gears of War, one of the best-looking games up-to-date. It is set to be released on November 2008, though IMO it is most likely that it will be postponed.

    Hate having those 1-on-1 chainsaw battles and your opponent somehow suddenly chainsaws you when you seem to have the advantage? Now you two will lock your chainsaws to the death, and whoever knocks the other's chainsaw has the chance to finish them off!

                          We need a GDC '08 thread, I almost made one yesterday but stopped. Perhaps this could be it.

                          Anyways I never finished Gears the first time but it was awesome, I'll need to pick it up again to prepare myself

                                  PC is still better than everything though
                                  GOW 1 was pretty good so I'm pretty exited for this instalment now that I actually own a 360 and all.

                                      Easy now, Fido. I wasn't bashing it.

                                      Bashing it would be saying that it sucked. I simply said it was a FPS. Nothing more, nothing less. My lack of enthusiasm is simply a reaction to so many straight-up standard FPSes coming out now 'adays. Oh, excuse me, "third person shooters."

                                          IN terms of the trailer it didn't really show much. It never said the chainsaw system would be different, it was just a cutscene between Marcus and a locust having a lancer duel using the chainsaws...
                                          Nothing really interesting in terms of details yet, but I'm really excited for this game because of the fact that I love GoW 1 Aside from that I would really love to know about any new weapons/characters/enemies/storyline. Taken from the trailer we all knew they would be back due to success of the enemy/game and the ending of the first one where you see a small group of locust still standing on a cliff looking over the explosions of the "hive" (sorry spoiler for those that haven't beaten GoW 1). =D

                                              This brings me great sadness, another HORRIBLE game....

                                              I have the first one and only played it for about 5 hours, and I got it a year ago.
                                              I do not like RTS's... especially this....

                                                  @revolutionomega: It's rumoured that it will be implemented after many complaints about the 1v1 chainsaw system.

                                                  @tuforox: It's not horrible at all. It's original, graphically stunning, and FUN. It's your opinion though, so I won't argue.

                                                  @anyone who hates the 360: Who cares. No console wars here please or Squeek will lock.

                                                      @tofu: Don't say a game sucks because you don't like it. What games do you like? I find gears stunning and unique, even with some difficulties on lag and mp sorting, it's a unique system and things can be fixed easily.

                                                      @ddr_f4n: Ahhh cool, figures. My complaint about the chainsaw was that it started sucking you in almost from too far after that one update.

                                                          As far as 3rd Person Shooters go, GoW was the best I ever played. The MP also doesnt suck like in almost every single 360 game other then Halo. lol
