Honestly,I hate anime. The storylines are pointless, the mouth/lip-syncing is gay,and people talk about it too much. All of it is violence and screaming. Also beacause of Yaoi,Otaku,Hentai,AMVs,and fanfiction just outline some of the nerdiness of it all.*Hatemail Accepted.*

Re: Hate It,Like It,What You Think of ANIME!!
I agree with the fact that people talk about it too much, but it's kinda stupid to say that the storylines are pointless (especially since there's no way you could have seen every single anime, so you just don't know if it's true). It may be true for 90% of the animes I've seen (in my opinion), but the other 10% have VERY nice stories (Monster for example). The problem is there are so many animes nowadays that it's just very difficult to find the good ones. About the lip-syncing, it just all depends on the quality of the anime/dubbing.
Obviously you haven't seen many animes....
Don't watch that kind of stuff if you don't like it. -

Anime is my life. I devote most of my time exploring the realms of anime by watching it (as much as possible at whenever time of whatever genre), reading it (manga doesn't=anime, but u probably don't like it either), making it (flash anime, doujins, desktop wallpaper, posters), stepping it (sm, bms), playing it (games like Touhou, Atrie series, Tales of series, CG games, h-games, etc.), and collecting it (buy puzzles, figures, cards, postcards, calendars, software, etc. at bookstores, comikets, etc.). As long as time and money allow it, I will continue to be the otaku I am now. Anime allows you to enter a world of unimaginable magnitudes that can never be found in reality. I like anime over books because you get visual images and emotionally enacted audio. Also, I like the general structure of anime people compared to real people (that is going a bit too far, i know). BUT! I love anime. Always have, always do, always will be.
It is impossible to judge anime based on the factors of what most people know. I mean, who has ever heard of the anime Mushi Uta or Melddragon? Adding on to what Ozie-Saf said, I'm sure you can find an anime with a storyline you will like, if you don't stick to the most popular of anime like Naruto, Bleach etc.Last edited by Xx{Midday}xX; 01-7-2008, 03:55 PM.Any FFR song title discrepancies? Re: Hate It,Like It,What You Think of ANIME!!
I didn't even answer your question lol.
What I hate about anime: hentai or anything that involves huge breasts, perverts, rape and so on....characters who are 15 years old or younger and who save the world. Poorly animated animes, "pointless" stories (exept for a few animes), young girls high pitched voices, animes too many people talk about, animes that look like many other animes, endless anime series. And probably quite a lot of things I can't think of at the moment.
What I like about animes: any anime that is called Karas, Yukikaze, Wolf's Rain, Monster, Samurai Champloo (if you're high), Azumanga Daioh (you MUST be high or at least drunk to fully enjoy it
), Tokyo Godfathers and quite a lot of anime movies as well. Those are animes that I loved because every single one of them is really different from most of what's done nowadays. Every single anime I mentioned as at least one of those: beautifully animated, very nice and unique story, amazingly funny/odd, a beautiful soundtrack (I know it's weird, but I'll almost always like animes that have a nice soundtrack), made me cry/bite my nails and so on. Once again, it's just my opinion.
so true.
PS: I SO hate animes with complicated stories that you have to watch 100 times before you can understand what's the story (*cough* Ghost in the Shell *cough*).Comment

Re: Hate It,Like It,What You Think of ANIME!!
There are animes I don't like, such as Crayon Shinchan. I like more developed animes with a moving storyline (I can list as many as you want. Watch them.). Ghibli has made some good anime movies in the past, but ever since Miyazaki has switched director's positions, they've been ruining the original storyline of what they animated. Spirited Away was great, but Earth Sea Saga was an insult towards the original story (directed by Miyazaki's son). In short, I want a moving storyline that doesn't ruin the original story (most animes have a separate origin) with good anime quality (like ef - a tale of memories, AIR, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, etc.).
Ghost in the Shell was good, but yeah, I only understood it because I'm a physics future fantasy maniac. My parents had trouble keeping up with it. They also only like the second season...
Oh, and for people who know it: Tsubasa Chronicles is BACK! BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE! For those of you who were dissatisfied with Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicles, but adored the manga: GO GET THIS ANIME! FIRST EPISODE IS OUT IN A DVD, but there is very little chance that they will air it on television, including BS TV (which means there will be less chance that someone will upload it on youtube/torrent etc.). If someone knows something about Tsubasa Chronicles Tokyo Revelations, please leave a comment on my profile.
For those that don't know: Tsubasa Chronicles is one of the best anime/manga series created by a small anime group called CLAMP. CLAMP has also created X, xxxHolic, Cardcaptors Sakura, Chobits, Magic Knight Rayearth, Honey and Clover, etc. Tsubasa Chronicles is basically a conglomeration of the aforementioned animes/mangas. They take the characters and the worlds, and create a completely new theme that revolves around the most touching storyline. Tsubasa Chronicles Tokyo Revelations is very confusing for those that have not read the manga, even if they have watched the first anime series, Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicles (which had a very unsatisfying ending with a drop on anime quality). Tsubasa Chronicles Tokyo Revelations has a movie quality of animation, and the storyline starts with the world of X (where they meet Kamui [no spoilers will be said, but it is the turning point of the story]). ABSOLUTE RECOMMENDATION.
Dates: Japan...
1/17/08- Book22 + DVD2 comes out
3/17/08?- Book23 + DVD3 comes out

Re: Hate It,Like It,What You Think of ANIME!!
Anime generally means "animation". That's basically all it really is; animation from Japan.
Saying you dislike "anime" is closedminded really, considering "anime" consists of many genres, styles, etc.Comment
