practice. you're already playing spread.... so it isn't like you're nerfing yourself on playing style.

do you have trouble reading the arrows? or moving your fingers fast enough? or both?

generally, those are the only 2 issues you might have... i guess you could also have issues with hitting the arrows on key, but honestly, if you don't have a decent ear to hit the notes on key with the music... that is very hard to get better at over time.

...something's not right if you still can't FC a song that's harder than Standard. I would suggest practise reading on StepMania, Screenshrink and try as much stuff as you can.

It kinda gets harder to read the arrows when there are that many.
Songs like Uber Rave are hard when they hit that part.
I could do with some practice reading notes.

I can hit most arrows on key, and my fingers are fast.
I believe my best score is 5 goods on Secret Zombie Room.
I guess that's pretty sad for someone who's been playing for three years. <.<

Give me a couple suggestions of songs harder than standard that you like to play.

Wow, you've been playing for almost 2 years. Go Go Power Rangers is an easier song too.
The only help I can give is Screenshrink. Switch your playing class? Some people don't work with spread. I don't. I have to index.

you should try real hard songs and keep trying them
then go back to the easier songs like go go go power rangers
and it will seem a lot easier
+ screen shrink helps a lot when you get the hang of it

Yeah, me too. I guess it's just something one needs to get accustomed to, but I'm having a really hard time finding somewhere I can practice without being yelled at for wrecking the keyboard and/or being told that no games are allowed.

By the way, try doing songs rated "Difficult" and see how you do.

Edit: I totally know how you feel regarding the "I'm not as good as I should be" thing.

WTF? That seems like a really awkward 2-handed playing style. Try this:

Left middle - left
Left index - down
Right index - up
Right middle - right

Or even better:

Left middle - left
Left index - down
Right index - 2 on number pad
Right middle - 6 on number pad

This way, your left hand controls the left half of the arrows on your screen and your right hand controls the right half. If that doesn't work, then get really good at mashing.
