Disgaea is pretty much the best game ever. Everyone ever should own it.

I got the first game for free, courtesy of my cousin (who should look like my uncle, instead.). Haven't thought much about the second game. Sounds great, though. I'll get it someday.

I didn't like how it was stupidly long and you could just get through it by grabbing everyone and throwing them across the map, then having the top person just walk onto the portal.

And how some of the random maps were technically impossible to complete without killing all the enemies. I've had it happen that I'm stuck on a strip of land all the way to the left and the portal is all the way on the right on a single block. No one can throw all the way across a map, to my knowledge.

@Tosh: So, you didn't like that you could get through it without fighting, and you also didn't like having to fight through it?

You could have always gencied out and then gone back in for a different map. You would have lost the level bonuses since the last tenth level, but hey, you could have also fought. Or, assuming there was at least one empty space, throw enemies onto other enemies to create more space, then throw your character a reasonable distance to the portal.

I finished watching the Disgaea anime yesterday, I'm definately getting this game.

The anime sucks, don't watch it. The rare funny/cool parts are just stolen from the game and everything else is random ****.

Also, the Item World is vastly improved. There are towns inside of it where you can rest and buy items now. You no longer need to leave the IW in case of emergencies - just get to the next town.

Oh, did I mention that every single map in the main game has an alternate, super hard version? And don't forget the Nether maps, which are even harder and just as numerous as the main game maps.

Secret bosses include Mid-Boss, Prier, Zetta, and more.

The Dark Congress system has also been completely revamped. You have a criminal record now that goes up for doing a variety of things. The bigger your criminal record, the more influence you have in the DC! You can also use items on senators to send them to sleep, blow them up, etc.

There's also a whole load of new features in-battle. Cellphones, new geo-panel trickery, massive combos, you name it.

640x480 resolution ensures that the game looks a lot better than any of NIS's previous 320x240 games. The sprites have a ton more animation now and are used more frequently than the character portraits.

The music is still as great as ever, with Tenpei Sato returning after his absence from MK. No worries there.

So yeah, basically it owns.

Agreed, the Anime sucks. I only watched the first episode, and it went through, like, 3 of the best jokes from the game.
