Play songs just above your level, until you can do them comfortably, and then find things just above your level again. Learn to read faster than x2.5 on most things. Buy some p2p songs as practicing those charts will help a great deal more than just the free songs (Did for me at least).

Unfortunately, I'm reading at a constant x3 on most songs.

Also, getting e-points to acquire the P2P songs will take a long time, considering I don't order things through the internet (for security.)

It doesn't help that I can only get on average 100 or so Gems per song.

Oh, well. I best stop complaining and just play. =P

Gems don't mean **** after you have the gem songs, so that doesn't really matter.

If you haven't learned this already, this is how the patterns in 13+ songs usually work. The three keys on each side of the spacebar are each used for seperate patterns. The spacebar can either be used along with one of the sides, or can be tapping out quarter notes going to a bass drum, or something like that. The Sonatines on hard are good practice for keeping this mentality.

Just use o2mania to play all the songs for free. You can even slow songs down, change the judge, and turn fail off if you want to do better on certain songs.

Yeah, I know. I mean, why would you want to support a really small business-- the people that are releasing songs so that you can continue to steal songs? It's just a silly thought.

If the problem persists, try turning off your firewall and see if that helps. If it does, then adjust your firewall settings to allow o2jam. Sometimes anti-virus programs can hurt o2jam, too.

It's easy to adapt to the different concepts afterwards once you get that down. Once I fully understood things like %5, a lot of harder charts made a TON more sense.
