    This is the first time an OS has had a "soundtrack," so to speak. This would be a monumentally bad idea under normal circumstances, but they got Robert Fripp of King Crimson to do this.

    This is an interesting idea, you know? Hiring big-name artists to do sounds for operating systems. Brian Eno made the startup sound for Windows 95, actually. I wonder how well Fripp's music will fit an operating system.

          Oh, and as long as they get rid of MSPaint and all of the more useless shit loaded up in the accessories (everything outside System Tools and Communications), Vista will be awsome.

                                              I agree completely. Sound effects for events are much more important than the core actually fuctioning properly.

                                              That aside, wasn't the general consensus from the beginning that Vista was to be much better than XP?

                                                  There's this one rich, (uber(super(mega)) rich) kid at school who bought the beta for $750 with his own money. He let me check it out, and so far it's not all that impressive.

                                                          The beta that was released forever ago? Well.. I wouldn't really expect much anyway. Some of the stuff that was going to make Vista worht it were taken out.. like the new file system and such.
