    expert ddr player trying to play pump it up

    Let's just say that going from Heavy songs on DDR to easy songs on Pump It Up isn't as easy as it looks.

    Have you ever played PIU? I didn't like it at first, but I guess it's okay. Change is good sometimes. DDR still owns, though.

      I played PIU for the first time about two weeks ago, I sucked ass but I had really good accuracy on it. I'm WAY too used to DDR to play PIU.

          I play both, and I am pretty much best PIU player in my city, and like 3rd best DDR player in my city. (mind you the best ddr player in canada lives here)

              Im not sure what I played, it might be PIU but some game I was playing like DDR had really hard arrows and the arrows were going up but they were 3D so it was hard to see it.

                  PIU is, overall, a much higher difficulty than DDR. That, and you're going to have to use more than just your feet too.

                      Timing window on PIU is HUGE. The lifebar is also extremely generous.

                      One time during Dr. M on crazy, I got really tired and just stopped in the middle of the song, then after about 2 seconds of doing nothing I realized I still hadn't failed, and ended up passing the song.

                      I'm getting a lot better at PIU, A'd Turkey March on Crazy.

                              PIU = Arrows in the four corners and a middle pad.

                              Timing on PIU is wider than goatse's anus, to say the least. Switching over to PIU was surprisingly easy for me, and was able to start doing some of the harder Crazy songs right away.

                                  Those crossovers with 3 16ths are tough.

                                              When you stopped for two seconds it must have been your first song. It never fails your first song right away.

                                                  I hate pump, its probably because ive been playing ddr for years and i tried pump once. Whats up with the diagonal arrows, im not that cordinated, i think ill stick with ddr.

                                                      PIU is easy once you realize that the arrows are cramped together more than the DDR pads. I think this will make PIU easier for some people, because you can move faster...
                                                      When I first started playing PIU, I was overstepping or whatever...
                                                      But now, you have to start a new habit of staying in the center of the pad...
                                                      Just like a beginner to DDR would...
                                                      that is how I started getting better... slightly...

                                                          I think the transfer from ddr to pump is actually fairly pretty easy. I went to craigs cruisers for danceguys birday and i was able to beat slam and a lot of other songs on hard (umm... 2nd difficulty) and he was able to beat winter on crazy after only a few games.
