I'd be all for it...just keep in mind that I am pretty bad at most stepmania songs. Like, I can't even AA TSS or FC Waka Laka (I WILL SOON).
Are you going to weed out people that don't "qualify" for the server, or are we essentially just going to have a Stepmania-fest where anybody that has Alpha 23 and the SMLAN metrics can join in?

What I ended up doing was going here:
And downloading the file "Alpha 23 network metrics". This is an SMZIP file, but if it doesn't work with your stepmania (happened to me), then just rename it to a .ZIP. Inside is a replacement for your metrics file. So, if you want to keep your edited metrics, just copy the speed mods section, put in the replacement metrics file, and then paste the speed mods back in to their respective location.

Can someone explain exactly how to do this? I seem to have been failing miserably for a while now.
I made a server and logged in as me (127.0.0.1). It said it was successful. When other people try to connect to my IP, it basically times out on them and they never establish a connection.
So, hows about a step-by-step guide so I can see what it is that I'm missing here?

Network Options:
Hoster - Make a server name. Connect to your IP, not 127.0.0.1. http://www.whatismyip.com helps finding your IP. Insert it in and then you should be successful 100% of the fime, unless your behind a firewall.
Player - Connect to your hosters IP. The IP that was from http://www.whatismyip.com that he/she used. No need to put in a server name.
Go to your game and start up.
Inside Game:
Host
Ctrl+Enter = "Play -insert title-?" Message
Ctrl+Enter again = "Plays -insert title-"
Anyone
Up/Down = scroll
Left/Right = Selecting Difficulty/Option Menu.Comment

Mine was being really fucked up earlier. I tried to play it with Privateer but would not work for either my internet, or my computer IP. And strangly we had the same IPs(something got messed up).Comment

Usually it is a firewall problem. My firewall is just a program cuz my comp is terrible and not worth a real router, so I just turn off the program. But if you have a router and know how to do it, you must open port 8765.
