FFR Rank refers to your placement on the leaderboards, which only factors in your top 15 scores right now. So to make any progress on that front you need to get scores with better AAA equivalency than what you have at the moment.

Average Rank is a metric no one really cares about nowadays with other skill-tracking metrics existing, just the average of all songs in your levelranks like it's always been. Looks like what you listed is your Average Rank Rank (lol) which is your avrank position relative to everyone else. Even if you're improving scores, if you have a lot of unplayeds it's going to be shitty.

The top 15 songs you have here are used to calculate your level, which for you is 77.59, and then your rank is where you fall relative to everyone else on the site. To improve this you need to get higher ratings in your top 15 which will improve your level and subsequently you'll pass more people in rank. This is the metric most people care about nowadays.

Are you confused about avrank rank too? That one has stayed the same as it always has, it's just using your actual average rank (which from your levelranks is 5,294.2291 at the moment) and calculating your position relative to everyone else.

If you only had three players with avranks of 10, 250, and 10,000, their avrank ranks would just be 1, 2, 3 in that order. So effectively that but it's pulling from a pool of over 2 million users.

It's confusing to me because I've only gotten better ranks and even played songs I wasn't ranked on and yet my rank is getting higher and higher for some reason.
It's very odd that my rank and average rank keep getting worse despite me scoring very well on the songs I play.

Iirc, there was a change recently that impacted the Av Rank.
If you look at your public level ranks (or the FC/AAA bars on your profile), the counts now include the tokens. Looking at your token level ranks, it doesn't seem that you have played most of them. That explains the big jump on your Average Rank, since that change happened last month.

oh okay, that makes some sense then because it has been within a month or two that I noticed my average rank go from 2k to 4k (and I was thinking how in the hell?!)

Yup, average rank was changed in September 2021 to include token songs! Everyone's average rank was also updated, which added thousands of new accounts to the average rank leaderboards.
