being fully honest here, FNF is the worst rhythm game i have ever played

you can't change controls, the artstyle makes me want to gouge my eyes out, and the music is mediocre at best
also the community for the game sucks LOL

DDRV beta was worse imho. At least FNF is open source.

oh, i love it...! i think it's just a very sweet way to frame the "idea" of rhythm games... i remember tweeting once that there should be a hyper-aesthetic rhythm game that puts the game dynamics in a social context, and at the time i imagined the 'dancers' to be sort of like masked wrestlers. also the art style justifies FFR's old skin, which i always thought was sweet... (i mean, i like the microsoft excel spreadsheet for professional business aesthetic that 4-key has become as well, so i'm not biased...)

in general though, i think that is still quite an enormous idea, to me, the idea of "hyper-casual dance games mixed with stage performance"; they could simply just be rehearsing the steps on a pad, and performing to the audience, and not to a screen. it COULD have a professional wrestling circuit-like feeling, but there could also be shows where a "dancer" performs a narrative in a play or a storybook-like musical, where "steps" are synced up to a screen behind them (with 'more intense moments' having faster movements, and more frenetic stepping)

Its a cute game, but definitely of the "play once" variety. I check it for new weeks sometimes. If they made a vs mode, playing 8key charts would be fun
