Request to add fashion and pets subforums under life and arts category

I think these categories are broad enough to facilitate many different discussions… as well as providing an easy place to have pet threads that don’t clog up other forum sections.

What do you guys think of this?

there is absolutely no way that there's enough of a demand for a fashion forum or subforum. Posts about fashion or about what people are wearing are exceedingly rare, and its not because there's not a forum for it, its because most people don't really care about that on this site.

there might be enough demand for a pet/animals forum or subforum though.

FFR is a pretty good place somehow.

there's a thread literally in this subforum that's stickied

Pretty much this. FFR isn't reddit.

Creating a forum with the goal of encouraging discussion of that subject basically doesn't work.

What we do is notice that there's enough discussion of something happening that it warrants its own subforum to hold it.

I think I get what you’re saying. So it isn’t necessarily the presence of the forum itself that causes discussion, but the forum being created out of overwhelming demand and interest?

                    I see…

That’s a very good way to put it

Now see, that would be a great stickied thread in chit-chat, without needing to be its own subforum

I agree. Or we could have a mini subforum similar to the happy birthday forum?

I don't think it needs it's own subforum, but it is a cute idea.
