I'd think the fact that I stopped posting, quit my forum position and was gone for like two years might have had something to do with my not getting votes for things also.

But sure, yes. I've only become more stupid with age.

Edit: For realz though, the thing I actually did was stop always posting trying to look smart, relaxed a little and engaged with the people in the community instead of living in CT trying to raise the level of discourse. Smartest poster doesn't go to the smartest user, it goes to the person who posts the most trying to look smart. And I stopped caring about that.

I want you to read this post and react to it as if someone else had posted it. I feel like your narcissism really gets in the way of your own logic.

The subject is writing that he doesn't have time to argue when he started all the arguments in the first place. But he made sure that he's not admitting defeat in any argument just more of a no contest thing. He is also bragging about having responsibilities at 28 years old, which honestly is just baffling.

probably not, the idea that I'm some insufferable narcissist is a meme I entertain as a joke but in reality

my advisor in college was a specialist on narcissism and I worked with him extensively. I repeatedly asked him if I was a narcissist and he insisted I wasn't.

the only thing he was psychologically certain about was that

(a) I had ADHD, since I had an extant diagnosis, and

(b) I was very high on some construct that amounted to self-consciousness, I think it was in fact self-consciousness but it could be this thing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-monitoring

either way, I'm decisively average when it comes to narcissistic tendencies

whatever it is you're observing is probably high self-scrutiny, not any sort of manifestation of ego
