Portalbob340's Round Robin Tournament

This tournament is planned to start on Friday, January 9th, 2015 @ 10pm server time. Registration will be open until Monday, January 5th. Register by posting that you would like to participate.


This tournament will be played out with each round consisting of two-player match-ups. Each match within each division (D1-D7) will be playing different songs of the same difficulty. The songs will be picked randomly.






The winners of the matches will be determined by whoever has the higher raw score. There will be no eliminations in this tournament.


The number of rounds will be determined by how many players sign up. Optimally, there will be enough rounds so that everyone plays against everyone else in their division once. If this would lead to an excessive amount of rounds, the division may be broken up into two groups that will play each other internally. Since it is almost inevitable that divisions will have differing player counts, divisions that would have completed all of their matches before the end of the tournament will have other formats for the remaining rounds, such as rounds where multiple songs must be played or rounds where all players in the division compete together. Each round will last for either 3 or 4 days, depending on the number of rounds.


Players will win credits by winning "credit stakes" in their matches. Each win grants that player one stake in the credit pool at the end of the tournament. The credits will be divided proportionally based on these stakes. Each player will have the same potential maximum amount of credit stakes. In designated rounds (most likely rounds 2 and 3), players can bet their credit stakes on other matches. If the player betted on wins, the better wins twice what they bet, in credit stakes, but if the player betted on loses, the better’s stakes go to the winner of the match.



Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated. Alternate accounts, IP sharing, and anything else not normally tolerated in FFR will not be tolerated here. Players found to be cheating will be disqualified and their opponents in matches will win by default.

As for late submissions, please try to keep these to a minimum to maintain the flow of the tournament. If anyone has a good reason for needing a round extension, please PM me.



Scores should be submitted as valid screenshots.


In the case of a division with an odd number of players, for example a division of 7 players, there will be one extra player not in a match for each round. In this case, each round will have three matches and one extra player. This extra player will play as if he or she was part of all of his or her division's matches. Based on the player's total number of wins, some credit stake will be awarded as a bonus. Any differences between credit stake opportunities between divisions will be settled in the rounds with different formats.

As a clarification, these "matches" are not live multi-player matches. Each player will try to submit the highest score they can during the round, and the player with the higher score wins.
