    Mendrion

    It's meant to be the theme of the final boss of a certain bullet hell game I'm developing. Still working on the loop. Does it sound appropriate?

      Rhythm guitar sounds great. Lead melody sounds like you just put notes here and there and decided to call it a day. Loop is fine.

      This needs a backing instrument of some sort, it feels a bit empty with just the guitar and lead. The strings that pop in towards the end are not enough, and why are they panned almost entirely to the left?

          But that's not what happened. In fact, the rhythm guitar sections and the rest were made after the lead. Just because the melody isn't something you'd expect, doesn't mean it's random or unplanned. This is also extremely vague and subjective.

          Not to mention people complain it's "generic" when it's not somewhat unorthodox (though I've actually heard many melodies following this style, so I don't get the problem).

          I guess I panned it too much, but it was not to take the space of the lead. What other instrument would I use?

              You have certainly been pushing out a lot of songs lately. Been thinking about compiling them in an album on bandcamp or something?

                      Eh, that's just how it sounds to my ears. Perhaps the reason it sounds so crazy is because you wrote the lead before you wrote anything else, but who knows.

                      I'd suggest some subtle pad/string/brass channel or whatever just to flesh it out.
