    A taste of the metal

Figured I'd share something I've been doing recently.
I've been jamming with a technical deathcore band recently called Reaping Asmodeia, and a few months back I recorded my vocals over their track "Poison of the Earth" as an audition for the band.
Hope you enjoy it ^_^ https://soundcloud.com/cyphersound/reaping-asmodeia-vocal

you can hit everything really well, only thing I think is you just need to work on keeping time with the instruments in some areas, but that comes with practicing with them and with the song. Screaming/growling is actually done really well, I like it. I hope they pick you!

Thanks guys and yo man, you'd be surprised at how many of the seemingly off time parts are actually written that way @__@ reaping's music is incredibly hectic and the patterns are a monster and a half to get down. I really hope they make me an official member of the band too After I sent this to them I started going to their practices about once every other week or so. I have about half of their setlist down and memorized and I'm working on the getting the second half down. They've hinted at maybe having me start out by going on a tour with them in the winter across the west coast

sick! yea if those are intentional, then the song makes a lot more sense, lol. Starting out with a tour with them would be huge, I bet.

How long did it take you to master that level of intensity for vocals?

Well I've been singing my whole life, I'm a fairly well trained tenor and I was actually in a touring choir for awhile. But as far as metal vocals go, I started trying to figure out how to scream when I was about 13 (seven years ago), didn't really get very far with that until I was about 16 or so, but by the time I was 18, I had most of what you hear there down. Recently I've just been working on finding new ways to accent vowels and whatnot in my lows, and trying to find a way to keep my highs more consistent as I seem to push myself too hard with my highs semi-regularly, and I want to try to make sure not to harm myself :P

might as well share this too ^_^ it's a bit of an older video, but I still love it

Personally not a fan of this type of music, but this sounds just as good if not better than other bands!
              Great job
