But being real. I don't really care for rhythm games like that anymore, if anything I just use it to kill time, maybe to relax.

I literally spend more time handstanding than playing FFR nowadays. Just isn't something that I kept up with. Was fun while it lasted for me though (in the middle of school lectures).

I like that I can raise my body with my hands even though I cannot do that to my ffr score.

i play like 5 minutes a day and sometimes i wonder how i'm still better than a lot of tryhards with like 30 billion grandtotal on this website

I would definitely say so. Any time there's a rhythm game in my hands I would usually spend time until I'm at least decent at it and pass most high level songs (currently passing level 11s in Technika 3, and a lot of songs in Pump Pro).

In terms of crossing over with with other hobbies, I really want to play Sound Voltex one day since it has Touhou and Vocaloid songs in it :V

how much you play ffr and record scores on here isn't an indicator of how good you should be. lots of people play sm and other rhythm games A LOT and have very little ffr played, then there are other people that only play ffr casually a little bit every day for years who rack up lots of points. ffr is old and you don't get great at ffr by just playing ffr.

I play rhythm games occasionally, but they're basically the only kind of video game I play. Any other game is too time-consuming. In this sense, they've distorted my sense of what a reasonable amount of time I might dedicate to something is.

I spend 0 hours a week researching other files people have made. I actually feel bad about this, because I feel like the people who spend time making these deserve an audience and I'm letting them down. (but not bad enough to actually do something about it obviously, so it's not like I'm that awesome of a person. >_>)

Side note: I feel this way about movies as well. I basically only watch stand-up comedy now (or short clips of shows) because I don't want to spend an hour alone watching a TV show. I tended to watch movies and TV shows far more frequently when I was in a relationship than I do now as a single person.

I'm as confused as you are, Lito, about weight training. I have no idea if it's a hobby or not. If it is I suppose you could count about 4-8 hours of my week as part of that hobby.

Most of what I do nowadays is just write, web browse and talk to people. But I'm not that productive, so it's mostly web browsing and talking to people. Yesterday I think I read about the biographies of African dictators for 3 hours.

Music gaming was a stepping stone. I've made it clear in TGB I'm a flautist, and I'm trying to use my speed I've gotten from Stepmania as a musician. My instrument is incredibly difficult in theory and practice, so my finger speed, while being a big deal, is the first half I've developed.

I've been consistently playing rhythm games since FFR, they've just changed over time.

It started out with a casual interest in FFR and DDR - I played a few hours of each a week for a few years, but never really got great, just got good enough to pass anything. I found out that being a one-hander was really holding me back, started to learn "proper", but got bored pretty quick.

Being a musician, Guitar Hero and Rock Band clicked with me a lot harder than just pressing arbitrary arrow buttons, and I got to the point with Rock Band drums that I actually won money in competitions. Then rhythm games stopped being cool. I continued to play some on my own after Rock Band stopped being a thing at parties, but that dried up pretty quick.

For the past couple years, I've played several hours of Rocksmith a week. It's been by far my favourite rhythm game experience. None of the other ones let me walk away with tangible skills that apply in the real world. Having drummed for ten years, it was really satisfying having a melodic understanding added to my skills on top of the rhythm stuff.

I spend approximately equal amounts of time distributed throughout my main hobbies - production, drums and guitar, and DotA lately.

You know what's weird? I'm finding a lot of people who are really good at something else have been active here at least for a little bit. We've got some really good musicians, gamers, artists, writers, etc. It's really strange.

Also I've met about 5 people in London (other than my family) who have played FFR.

Anyway, my hobbies are other rhythm games, MOBA/Strategy games, and graphic design. I also watch a bit more anime than the average person, but I'm not as avid as a lot of people.
